I know that this is a little late, but Happy New Year everyone!

My New Years Resolution is to draw my other OC’s more and to work on my original works more. But don’t think that I won’t draw Daniella and Lotus and less ^^

Grab an OC. What is their sleep schedule like? Is it standard for their species/occupation/environment/etc? How different do they act when well rested vs tired?

Teeeheeeee! Hmmm hard choices hard choices..I'll go with lotus for this one because most of my other guys are just Cats (tm)

Lotus...Lotus is a human magic-gmo'd with bird parts. How much of this is bird and how much is human is highly variable, especially for earlier generations (he's a more stable hybrid, being several hundred years down the line...though there is now a class system based on how much bird/human you have..being of the "royal"/"noble" class, he's slighter in general with longer wings and has the ability to fly) but in general these guys sleep like a weird combination of birds and humans.

All that is to say, Lotus is not a very good sleeper. Health issues and manic tendencies mean that he will stay awake for days at a time (by choice or not) then crash, sometimes catastrophically. Birds in general sleep less than humans, but Lotus and kin need ~4-6 hours of sleep every day to function properly, which he definitely does not get. Generally he'll sleep in 45 minute chunks, run around for a bit doing..whatever research..then go back for another 45 minutes..rinse and repeat.

How does this effect him? Well. I mean all the classic symptoms that come with lack of sleep. He's also got a reputation for being on a knive's-edge emotionally. He's got crazily volatile magic (it's literally too strong for his body) and sometimes that has hurt others (especially his love/partner/friend/whateverthing Amaranth). If he got enough sleep would these things get better? Probably. Do these things also keep him awake? Yes. It's really quite hard to control your magic when you're dreaming, and he's learnt through long experience that sleeping for too long has. bad results. he doesn't talk about it. don't ask him about it.
