I've been struggling with derealization a lot, and I think I accidentally projected this issue onto Monroe, subconsciously. It honestly clicks very neatly in place with a lot of their behavior.
They're prone to objectifying people, treating others like entertainment and toys. Considering themself to be above everyone else (which now isn't only because of their previous social status, upbringing or pure egotism. No. It's a direct link to 'why' they have such an easy time objectifying others.)
It also adds to their inability to connect to people (ofc) . And the kind of.. "blurred" perception they have of their surroundings (not literally).
... This definitely became a coping mechanism (for them) from a young age. Probably easier to interact with things and do what needs to be done when it doesn't feel quite real- makes work more tolerable.
I feel the derealization would also be another reason as to why they're so attached to Dee and Cherry. Things probably feel more real when those two are in the picture.
...... I honestly doubt that this is something they're conscious of though.. I'd guess they vaguely feel it. But they probably haven't put it all together yet..
If I wanna stick with the fox tf, then this would be another reason for why they avoid the tf, besides the loss of control. It makes everything: "too loud" and "too real". Like when the focus on a camera gets turned from blurry to sharp, with a speaker blaring into their ears.
