Reality check of being an artist nowadays 💔

okay this is a little awkward to say but i’m just gonna be honest for a second

i haven’t been getting much work lately and it’s been… kinda stressful trying to keep up with bills and basic stuff. part of it is also how things have been lately bots and scammers have been pushing and pressuring people into commissions so much that it’s made a lot of people hesitant or even scared to trust artists in general, which really sucks for those of us just trying to do honest work

i really love what i do and i don’t wanna give it up, so i’m trying to put myself out there a bit more instead of just silently struggling

if you’ve ever thought about getting art of your oc, a scene you love, or literally anything self indulgent… this might be a really good time. i’d genuinely love to work on something meaningful for you
