Over 100,000 have signed UC Davis student David Buscho's petition calling for the resignation of Chancellor Katehi in the wake of the infamous pepper-spray incident. Today, students, faculty and supporters are participating in a general strike and carrying these "KATEHI RESIGN" posters.
"November 28th – In solidarity with UC Davis , UC Berkeley, CUNY Schools and all students who are defending their right to protest against rising tuition cost and out of control student debt. We ask you to STRIKE! No work, no school – please join together in a central area of your choosing and stand up against the VIOLENCE and SUPPRESSION that is happening in our schools.
Please abide by the Pledge of Non-Violence to Participate in the Student Strike:
We are an open, participatory, democratic, horizontal, peaceful, and nonviolent movement.
We are not a leaderless movement, we are a movement of leaders.
As a nonviolent movement, we have agreed to refrain from violence against any person, from carrying weapons, and from destruction of property.
We reject violence, including property destruction, because we recognize that it undermines popular support and discourages the broadest possible participation among the 99%.
We believe nonviolence promotes unity, strength of message, and an environment in which everyone’s voice might be heard.
We affirm that it is the personal responsibility of every individual participant in our movement to promote and maintain nonviolent discipline and to intervene to prevent violent action by anyone in our movement."~OccupyColleges (http://occupycolleges.org/all-student-general-strike-november-28-2011-2/) There is a running list of over 50 colleges that will be participating in this general strike tomorrow. #Solidarity
"DAVIS, CA - The backlash from the UC Davis pepper spray incident is now impacting a Davis business owner who said he had nothing to do with the situation.
According to Jose Delgado, an unknown person has made more than 40 orders to his Domino's store, on the 2000 block of Lyndell Terrace. The person is requesting the orders be sent to a former residence of Lt. John Pike, the officer named in the pepper spraying of peaceful protesters at UC Davis on Friday.
The first order was placed on Friday night around 9 p.m.. A Domino's worker delivered to the address provided, but a man answered the door and said he didn't order the pizza, Delgado said.
On Saturday, the same situation occurred. When more orders were placed on Sunday, Delgado realized the orders were fake and refused service.
A report was filed with the Davis Police on Tuesday. According to the report, the unknown person provides Lt. John Pike's personal cell phone number and Pike's phone number at the UC Davis Police Department when requesting the order. At least ten orders were made online on Tuesday, according to the incident report.
Delgado estimates he lost about $200 due to the fake pizza orders. He said he is disappointed and upset.
The fake orders continued through Wednesday."~News10/KXTV

California's Legislature plans to meet about police
The California State Legislature will convene to discuss the use of force on University of California campuses, following incidents at UC Berkeley and UC Davis that have drawn international attention and intense criticism.
The hearings, requested by state Assemblymember and Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee Marty Block, D-San Diego, were approved by Assembly Speaker John Perez, D-Los Angeles, Tuesday, according to a press release from Perez’s office.
...
Both campuses’ chancellors have since accepted responsibility for the police use of force, with UC Berkeley’s Robert Birgeneau going so far as to apologize for the events of Nov. 9. National attention — bolstered by widespread media coverage of the protests — has focused on the two campuses, with criticism raining down on the campuses’ administrations and police forces and far-flung Occupy movements supporting the Berkeley and Davis protesters.
