Okkkaayyy here we go.
Laundry time (:<) This time with a cart instead of bag with backpack straps. It's like ¾ of a load, small bag helps. I have a tote with my cleaning wipes for the cart (for clean laundry,) my detergent (a favorite one,) my coins and dollars, and my nintendo switch lol. Headphones on with a Smosh podcast. My stress level is low...ish right now!! Laundry is in, soap is put in.
There is a lady putting her bags in front of my machine and I'm nervous I might have to move them if she doesn't by the time my washer is done. I don't wish go speak out loud to ask her to move. Unloading the clean wet laundry is like the worst part for me bc it is hard to not contaminate it. I'm working on this stuff, but these types of laundromats were a big avoidance for me causing me to have piles among piles of dirty clothes and nothing clean to wear. Maybe 5 big bags at a time. Now, I'm sort of keeping up I have about 2 bags of dirty backup but that means I have way more to actually wear.
Anyways, I will figure it out. With this blue cart setup, will I use that to switch my laundry to the drier? Will I clean a regular one that the laundromat offers? Maybe I'll clean mine, add the wet laundry bag, put the wet clothes in, and transport it that way. Idk how I wanna do this. I'm figuring it out I guess. I have like 15 mins left until I have to, anyway. O hope this person moves away from my stuff by the time I need to unload. I flip when people touch my stuff.
These posts help a lot though lol. My stress is going up from a 5 to a 6 because it is getting busier and this person has loke 5 big bags and this is a tiny laundromat. I hate this one. Ughhhh. I'll be happy to have it done, probably.
Ok I am gonna do SO WELL talking back to my ocd thoughts on the plane. I'm gonna be super chill and if not I will HANDLE IT WELL (manifesting lol)
Okokok about the laundry I survived, I was at like a 9.5 level of distress tbh for half of it. But I'm glad I did it at the non preferred laundromat because it's in my goals to get okay with it. Anyway my gf is an angel because I'm out of town and she decided to do like 3 bags of laundry for me while I'm gone just because she wants to. And you know what, it is actually a huge milestone for me to even let her touch my laundry and do it. I don't let anyone touch it like if someone does then that's contamination.
So letting her even do that and trusting her to be decently clean with it and A BIG PART will be me not checking that she did it "correctly" like not doing the compulsion of checking it's clean verbally. So I'm just gonna trust it is okay and accept it as it is.
And the coolest part?
I'm at a point in this ocd therapy program that my therapy doesn't even know about this yet (me allowing my partner to do this nice thing for me) bc I see her tomorrow and I'm at a point where I can create my own exposures. Pretty wild.
Doing laundry again today!!! With my girlfriend today. Woo for me
Thoughts from today
I've been doing DISHES which sucks but it's getting easier now and a bit more habitual. And it's nice being ABLE to rather than being constricted by the mind demons
I might start using this blog to yap about my OCD progress. For info I've been in an OCD program for like 6 months or so and it's all stupid hard lol
Anyway I'm at the LAUNDROMAT (which is maybe the second hardest thing going on right now)
It's my non-preferred gross small local one.
Waiting for clothes to dry now!! Too many people just walked in which is freaking me out but before that it actually started quite well. I made myself a dedicated laundry bag with my lysol wipes, dollars, coins, and small detergent bottle, and like nothing else in there. All my personal items I'm keeping in my coat pocket instead of being over cluttered with bags, and I went for NOT overfilling my laundry bag (one with shoulder straps) so it is truly one load, and not 2 stuffed into one bag. Trying to just successfully do a small laundry trip and get out of the habit of putting it off because it's horrible and then having to do 3 bags at one time which gives me a horrible day and takes literally all my time. Hopefully this is an easy only 2 hr trip and the rest of my day off I can spend doing stuff I like then having my therapy appointment.
