Earring Tales: Deep Rising

So I wanted something warm and summery. 

Yes, I really like blue-green. But it's also what water looks like in the right times and places, especially under golden sunlight, on the Gulf of Mexico. This is Spring Break colors. Summer sizzling colors. "Ouch where did I put the sunscreen" colors.

(That last being one of the main reasons I avoid the beach, ironically. Crispy-fried, not a good look.)

But oh, the colors when you can look at the water going from shallow to deep, deep, out of sight of mortal man. 

I love colors. I love shimmery colors. Shot silk is a marvel. If I ever somehow walked into a storehouse of silk robes it'd probably take hours to drag me out. Maybe less time if there are no books. If, however, there were texts on how to design the clothing and take advantage of color and shade, stuff I am really curious about, you might need a derrick. 

So. Yeah. Colors.

I finally finished my boyfriends long overdue Hanukkah present, a blanket in the colors of the sea!!

Its my first time ever crocheting a blanket and the stitches are uneven as hell but I don't care! I'm super proud of it!!

Blues and greens... really feeling the pull of the ocean today. I was born/grew up in Florida and the weirdest thing about the Midwest is the lack of ocean.
