I'm going through old pics as I get mathysphere dot gay up-to-date, and I'm glad to discover that I still really like a bunch of my old 2016-17 photos. especially the simpler ones-- they may be potato quality, but there're some fun ideas about light and shadows there

The framing is finished, the pattern is prepped, ladies and gents the Ocean Sampler is done, done, done! :D This one was so much fun to do, it’s all cute and bright and just a little bit weird-- all the things I like in my cross-stitch. ^_^

Pattern is up on my etsy if you’d like to make your own, and I’ll post some more pictures over the next few days!

It's ocean time! 🌊 Another project finished, another set of 16 dailies, another opportunity for me to mess around with little frames-- it's a good time. :) And also it's about time!

(All ocean waves are ©1833 Hokusai, it's not a homage but it's also not not a homage, you know?)

Ocean Sampler, square 3/16. His name is Ray Charles.

Ocean Sampler, square 5/16- we’re going underwater! I could do an entire sampler based off of coral reefs (and who knows? maybe someday...), and this square is one of my very favorites.

Ocean Sampler, square 14/16. A lovely lady anglerfish, lighting up the deep with a soothing, mesmerizing sort of glow.

Ocean Sampler, square 16/16- the last one! Here, a whale fall, where a temporary hotbed of deep-sea life has sprung up around an exceptional treat: the massive sunken corpse of a whale. Its tissue will feed a community for months, with the decaying bones and remaining detritus providing nourishment for even longer. 

Next up: a few closeup shots while I do the framing, and then I’ll get to post photos of the full sampler!
