What would you rather find on your favourite beach? 🚯Left or right🐚? . Today is World Oceans Day and I am feeling positive! 😀 There has been a major stir and awakening amongst us in the realisation of how our actions are damaging the beautiful world we live in. I've been actively trying to avoid single use plastic for over a year now and I'm seeing so many people making an effort too 💙 Our small actions combined really make a difference in the bigger picture! . I was recently up at Tawharanui, the beautiful marine and nature reserve north of Auckland. It is also my happy place and the place where I feel most at peace. I walked the whole length and managed to fill an entire supermarket bag with rubbish that had washed up. Compared to other places, you'd look at this long white sandy beach and think it was pristine! However the high tide line was littered with plastic bags, straws, lollypop sticks, old fishing tackle and rope. This stuff has travelled from somewhere and will keep moving if we don't take a little time to care. Be thoughtful when you purchase, when you dispose/recycle and when you are out, take a minute to leave places better than how you found them 😁 .
