When Lyori burst out of the water, Liruum had flailed, losing their careful ‘balance’ on the water and sinking underneath, briefly, before popping their head back above water, feet and tail kicking to keep them afloat easily. They were frowning at Lyori, but mirth sparkled in their eyes, and they feigned a deep, exasperated sigh.
“ Fine, give it here, ” they said, reaching out to snatch the tin from her, wrapping one hand around the cap before twisting it off. It wasn’t without effort, at least, bicep flexing with the effort of attempting to break the rust before it finally gave with a loud scrape.
“ Here, ” Liruum handed the jar back, lifting one hand and jokingly covering the front of their face, “ Not looking. What’s inside? ”
