it's a pretty basic bodyguard/noble au on the surface but a lot of interworkings make it very compelling for them i think. they essentially start out both being the most ostracized of their groups and connect becauase of being "forced" together due to that. the homoeroticism of being best friends and goofing off despite their roles, but still engaging in the devotion and loyalty of it
