Oceay Update and News
This week was midterms for school, which took a lot of my time studying and doing essays. I spent free time working on bug fixes, and added in this!
Boating between coasts has the risk of sharks swimming by, and if you’re too active they’ll attack! They’ll leave if you whack their snout enough, but miss and they’ll take a bite off your health!
Some of them can be very dangerous, so you’ll have to be careful if you boat across the ocean for too long. You can recover health by eating and staying full.
Important Stuff Now!
I don’t think Oceay has that much to go, but I’m going to return to Carrie’s Order Up and finish getting that on Steam. I feel really bad for delaying it and working on other stuff. I only intended to make a present for Inky with Poppy’s Burger Birthday Blast, and the timing to the low-rez jam, plus my interest in doing Oceay, felt too convenient not to try. I intended to complete it within 2 weeks, but this being an RPG I was less sure about how long things would take for me to be comfortable with them. I like this idea and I really want people to get a decent experience from it, so I’ve been taking my time.
However! With school and Spring coming to an end, I should postpone this for Summer and set my free time aside for Carrie. Once she’s up on Steam I’ll return to this. I’ll keep updating to keep you guys informed.
In other news, I do need to make another prototype game for School, as part of my thesis class. Depending how that goes I might share it’s progress here, and ask people for help. If you’re curious, I’m researching Community-Controlled Games (think Twitch Plays Pokemon), and am making a project utilizing that set up.
In unimportant news, I’m playing Super Mario RPG a bit, I needed a bit of a break and haven’t played a real game in forever. I’m also trying to figure out music, but that’s going really slow.
