You have no idea how much of a lovely surprise it was for me to learn (yes many months later i check on my fandoms only a few times a year) that togachako was bones as both a friendship and an "ambiguous" relationship. The pandering to that ship made me so uncomfy, but so many ppl in my side of the bnha fandom shipped it and saw any critical/negative comments about it as homophobic, ableist or even misogynistic (funny, that happened only if you criticized toga -ochako could be dragged time and again and nobody would care, or some would quickly try to shut you up with "toga was a victim of society first and she doesn't know better than indulging in maladaptative coping mechanisms" okay, that one I could understand, but that doesn't justify taking it out on ochako or anybody else for that matter! or plainly "don't take it too seriously: toxic yuri is meant to be hot.") Just not loving toga or not squeeing over the "the prettiest girl in the world" panel was met with pitchforks. "How can you prefer Ochako with literally any other character next to the BUILDUP! POTENTIAL REDEMPTION ARC! CANON LGBT CHARACTER! (hikiishi and chatora: am i a joke to you -don't answer that question) OFFICIAL ILLUSTRATIONS! (that look predatory af but go off ig) togachako has?? especially white bread bland heteronormative izu//ocha??? she said she had buried her feelings for deku; she bigger priorities than fussing over a lame boy (i.e. fussing over toga)!!"

girl (gender neutral), you're not talking to an izu//ocha shipper (idc but I don't mind them in the hands of competent writers i.e. not hori's); i'm just an Ochako fan who wishes my girl could have escaped being haunted by toga's mind games bordering on emotional abuse (and the groping wtf) on top of survivor's guilt but alr no one's to blame for that /gen for so many months (then YEARS of guilt and grief after the fact, until toga gave her """""""her blessing"""""" to move on and be happy wtf). Most of all, I wish Ocha wouldn't have had any reason to be known or remembered (by the audience; I hope this wasn't the case in-universe as well), pretty much since the war arc started, as toga's emotional-crutch (she was in no way willing to seek or accept anybody else's help but Ocha's)-slash-blood-bag-slash-devout-potential-gf, but rather the well-rounded character and hero she'd become. This applies to literally any other Ochako ship ofc, but thankfully every other possible combo* in the Ochabowl is not in h*rikoshi's hands, but the fans' :))
