i have never met a person who enjoyed daiya and genuinely liked ochiai
anyways stan takashima rei
The old third years! I always miss them when they’re gone, and it’s always a treat when we see them! It’s a little annoying to me though, that Tanba is such a nice, likeable guy nowadays, because I pretty much hated him and his bad attitude back when he was at Seidou. Like, I know he was going through some stuff at the time, but he was rude and moody and I didn’t like him much. He’s much better nowadays!
And please don’t tell me this is a hint that Eijun’s gonna be switched out pretty swiftly against Ichidai. Like, Narumiya and Amahisa can go for nine full innings pretty consistently, when are we gonna start seeing that for our Seidou pitchers? I know Seidou is more of a pitcher relay kinda place, but in so many important games it’s like, wham bam thank you ma’am, out in a few innings, like, I know I’m just being selfish, but I really wanna see Eijun pitch a full niner against Amahisa, I wanna see him friggin DOMINATE like Narumiya does so often...is it so much to ask for...please?
And yes, shut yer pie hole Ochiai and feast your eyes on Eijun’s new pitch! That he learnt ALL BY HIMSELF, because he’s a clever little bean (ever so occasionally).
LOOK AT THE SHOCK. Yes! We love to see it.
And we love to see Miyuki looking so handsome too.
I’m interested to see where Terajima is going with Nori’s injury, seems a bit like repetitive strain or something. It’s a bit of a running theme to have the third year pitcher fuck themselves up during the summer tourney, so it’s a little annoying to see, but I’m wondering why. Has he done it so that Kaneda gets to pitch an official game? We’ve not really seen much of him at all, so we could be, but then I’m just thinking why, at this point, even bother? I don’t think any of us readers are particularly invested in him as a character unfortunately, and it may be a case of too little too late for him, plus, bringing him out for the match against Ichidai could spell disaster, he’s sure to be a little nervous and that’s not a good mix against batters of Ichidai’s calibre. OR, could this be a plot for Terajima to start bringing Tojo into the mix? We’ve seen him pitch during the off season, and he’s got a few different pitches he can do, so maybe it’s finally gonna be his time to shine? He’s never given up on being a pitcher so it’s a definite possibility.
Either way, I’m a little annoyed that we’re back at having an injured player on the team (no other team seems to have this problem except for Yakushi!) Why have none of the other big pitchers like Mei or Amahisa or Maki or whoever ever had any kind of injury? Yeah, they have attitude problems which cause slumps in their pitching, but we’ve not had so much as a broken nail for these guys, yet we’ve had the yips, broken nails, bad backs, a hit to the friggin head, cramp, and now Nori with his elbow issues! It’s too much man, too much I tell you! I just want them to get through one tourney without this kind of shit happening.
Bah! Whatever, I’m sure it’s all part of Terajima’s master plan and I’ll forgive him in the end (maybe, possibly). Guess we’ll all just have to wait and see!
Rewatching Season 2 and it struck me, those scenes after the Ooya game, when Furuya asks Ochiai to learn a breaking ball and Eijun gets summoned to the coach.
I’ve seen the argument mooted that this (the “you can be the best in Japan” speech etc) is evidence of Furuya being favoured in the team over Eijun. But honestly, with the benefit of Act II as hindsight, the two scenes put together do exactly the opposite.
Nori’s determination
DnA act II ch.222: Appeal
I can’t believe we actually needed this loser to make everyone understand that Furuya needed to leave the mount.
