Background and connection to others:
Zasmou spend the first few years of his childhood doing everything together with his older sister Lidian and so it was quite a shock to him when she suddenly announced she’d be gone to train with the Jedi. As he grew older however he began to understand, just like her he wanted to make a difference and have a positive impact on the galaxy. It was thanks to this he decided to start military training to become a soldier for the Republic. During this time he met his friend Fairah, a Zabrak who he at first thought to be too rash and impulsive to ever make it in the army. After being forced to work together for a training camp he had to admit Fairah’s quick thinking could turn the odds to their favour quickly and he realized that maybe he could learn a thing or two from her.
The first time he came to Nar Shaddaa in his early years as a Republic soldier was a disheartening experience. Although he had heard plenty of stories it hit him hard to actually see so much suffering around him, knowing he’d never be able to help everyone. He had therefore never expected to actually run into one of the street boys he had met there years later in a cantina on Taris. Hearing the tale of how Levak had managed to work his way up from basically nothing had filled him with a strange sense of pride. After that they stayed in touch and it did not take long for Zasmou to see through the smuggler’s false bravado and catch a glimpse of the soft heart underneath it. Every now and then the two catch up over some drinks, and in between missions Zasmou tries to keep tabs on Levak to make sure he doesn’t get himself into too much trouble. This has let his squad mates in Havoc to joke that it almost looks like he has gained a younger brother from it, but Zasmou refuses to see it.
He sometimes has to pinch himself to be certain he really is Havoc Squad’s commanding officer now and it isn’t just some fever dream. Despite the hard and often dangerous work Zasmou considers his years in Havoc to be the best of his life as of yet. The start was rough but he is making a difference in the galaxy, has the best crew he could wish for and can even sometimes go on missions together with Fairah and, very occasionally, Lidian. It is all could ever want.
