#Ocotillo bushes like the ones in focus here have the ability to shed their leaves during severe drought or when there’s a lack of water. If it’s wet in the spring they sprout beautiful red flowers on their vine tips. The Ocotillo is very thorny and doesn’t qualify as a cactus.
