the personality of juniper sinclair | the broken optimist
it was a long time ago. it doesn't matter anymore. and yet i cannot let go. i cannot let go.
TW depression/suicidal(ish ideation?)
if you want to know anything about juniper, it could all be explained by her biggest flaw: ignoring her problems. she likes to feign happiness and optimism despite feeling deeply hopeless about everything around her. she tries her hardest to truly be happy for her sister and her team, and she even is happy and optimistic when she is around the people she loves, but she has a horrifyingly unsettling feeling when she is alone with her thoughts.
she is brave but reckless, she has no regard for her own safety. her biggest priority is the safety of the people she loves during any situation, and because she doesn't have much hope for life itself she doesn't really see the problem if it is her who dies instead. she would rather die before the people she loves, anyway.
she is confident which makes her stubborn at times. she doesn't let people walk over her and that can get her into tricky situations (especially with her father and authority she doesn't like). she has a hard time admitting when she is wrong, though, rather ignoring any problem she had caused.
she is charming, intelligent and patient, yet she can be hypocritical, she can have blind faith in people she loves, and she is unforgiving. juniper is the type of person that you will love if you are on the good side of her. it is hard to make her hate you, she usually gives second chances, she reasons with you. but after she hates you, it is harsh and unforgiving, she does not let people back in after a betrayal. she is very intelligent but can abandon her brain in favor of her heart. and people tend to like her, she can be very charming, yet she can become frustrating to other people when she is being hypocritical. she does not recognize her fault in that.
juniper is protective but overbearing at times, especially in the Wilderness. she will do anything to make sure that Willow and Lottie survive. she is opportunistic when it comes down to it, as she does whatever it takes for the people that she loves.
the skills of juniper
soccer, eighty-nine percent good at it. sometimes she gets over-excited and it messes with her game but otherwise she is ranked among the top 5 players of the group.
film, one of her most valued hobbies; she is amazing with a camera. she worked her ass off to get her first film camera and she always thought it was worth it. (unfortunately, the camera gets destroyed in the crash).
gardening, she is extremely knowledge about plants on account of the traditional medicine, so it was soon she took up gardening as a hobby. she finds it relaxing and was in a gardening club at school.
survival, her most important skillset and her most proud one: she knows how to survive and she knows how to help others survive. she spent her childhood preparing for a life outside and even forced herself into one, so she needed it. and it paid off.
learning, she is very intelligent so when she learns anything, it usually stays engraved into her brain. she likes learning things to help apply them into her own life (or avoid).
