Hey! Feel free to ignore this but could you please do a fic where Roman and Addy come back from the movies and the popcorn/ any cinema food is not agreeing with him so it gives him real bad heartburn and makes him gassy and extremely bloated so he wakes up burping a lot at like 3 am and Addy has to comfort him like the angel she is cause he's so embarrassed (poor baby). I love your works btw💙
Thank you so much for the request! I love this scenario so much!! And I just realized you called her an angel which happens to be Roman’s nickname for her 😊 I hope you like this!
“Is popcorn technically fried?” Roman asked as he popped a piece of the buttery snack into his mouth.
“What?” Addy gave him a look of amusement at the question, not quite sure where it came from since they had just been talking about whether Roman should get a cat or not.
Roman nearly choked, swallowing quickly since he couldn’t stop himself from laughing at the face she made. “I mean think about it, you drop the kernels in hot oil and after a couple of minutes they’re cooked. Sooooo technically fried.”
“Roman what the hell?” Addy laughed, grabbing a handful of popcorn out of the container in his lap. They had got a large at the front desk but when they got to their seats Lissy realized she didn’t want a lot at all so it was up to Roman to eat it all by the end of the movie but after that statement she wasn’t sure she wanted him to eat it.
“I eat it every time we go to the movies, it’s fine baby.” Roman said shoveling another handful in his mouth. She gave him a puzzled look but then she realized she must have been making a worried face without meaning to and he knew exactly what she was thinking.
“You’re right, I just worry about you and even the mention of fried stuff.” She said, taking a sip of her drink. She glanced back at Roman but just as he was about to say something else all the lights in the room dimmed, signaling that the movie was about to start.
So instead of speaking he just leaned over to kiss her temple, shoveling more popcorn in his mouth as he leaned back up in his seat and looked up at the screen with a smile. Addy just rolled her eyes, but she could hold back the smile that spread across her face as she picked her drink back up to sip at it again.
Later that night, when they finally arrive back at Roman’s dorm, they both quickly get showers and change into their pajamas. Both extremely ready for bed after the three hour movie they had just sat through, that sadly just wasn’t that good.
“So what if I get one of those naked cats? Wouldn’t that be cool??” Roman asked as they were getting comfortable under the covers, Addy big spoon as always despite her tiny frame.
“Oh my god, Ro those things are super expensive and not to mention ugly,” She said laughing as Roman turned his head to give her a mock face of shock.
“Ok ok maybe just a simple tabby cat then,” he said with a laugh, his voice getting quieter as he started to become tired.
Addy sighed, giggling one last time as Roman turned his head back around. Both of their eyes started to feel heavy as they laid in silence for a few minutes, cuddling closely into one another.
After a while Addy decided it was time to just go to sleep, so she sat up and leaned over Roman to turn the bedside table lamp off but when she put her weight on him slightly he groaned rather unexpectedly and she quickly leaned back off him as soon as the light clicked off.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to put that much weight on you,” Addy apologized, surprised that she was heavy enough to actually make him groan.
He turned over on his back, both of them looking at each other even though they weren’t actually able to see in the pitch black room. Addy sat crisscrossed next to him, her hand laid on his arm.
“No it’s not, it wasn’t you. My chest just started hurting all the sudden, I think the popcorn and soda gave me heartburn. I should’ve eaten actual food after we left.” Roman whispered, too tired to actually talk anymore.
“Oh baby, I knew you were gonna jinx yourself with that little joke,” Addy joked, “Do you want an antacid? I can go get it before laying down.” She asked, already getting ready to stand up by putting her hands down on the bed, ready to push up.
Roman snorted at her little joke, which made them both laugh a little harder but when he felt her start to get up he felt around in the dark for her until he felt her wrist and wrapped his fingers around it.
“No baby I’m alright, I can just sleep it off.” He said, pulling on her wrist to try and get her to lay down with him. At first she pulled back a little but she quickly gave in and laid down, snuggling her head into his bare chest extremely gently.
“Are you sure? I don’t want you to get a restless sleep.” She mumbled, laying her hand on the lower part of his belly. She noted the amount of bubbles that were gurgling around under her hand, and normally she would rub all the air out since he doesn’t really protest when he’s really tired but she knew that making him burp would probably make the burning feeling in his chest worse.
“I’m alright, really, it’s not that bad. Let’s just go to sleep angel.” Roman’s voice was barely a whisper now, already more than half asleep.
Addy sighed once again, still not quite convinced but since she didn’t really want to wake him back up she gave in. She closed her eyes slowly, letting the heavy feeling in her eyelids spread throughout her body until it completely consumed her into the darkness of sleep.
The next time she opened her eyes though was not when she was expecting. As she looked around the room and noticed that it was still pitch black, she was very confused as to why she was awake, that was until she heard Roman almost inaudibly groan next to her.
At some point in their sleep they must have moved away from each other so she had to reach out in the darkness until she found his cold shoulder, thankful he didn’t have a fever and he didn’t feel sweaty, but even through his shoulder she could feel his stomach gurgling angrily somewhere below.
“You awake baby?” She whispered raspily in his direction, seeing if he felt bad enough to the point he had woken up. Her suspicions had been confirmed before he had even spoken, by the heat that rippled through his body at the sound of her voice.
“Mhmm...I’m fine though, just ah...just go back to sleep,” He whispered, hiccuping halfway through his sentence.
Of course she definitely wasn’t about to just go back to sleep, instead she sat up and turned the table lamp on that was on her side of the bed. Apologizing when Roman scrunched his eyes close, groaning at the sudden light.
“Sorry I should’ve warned I was turning it on. What’s wrong baby, did the heartburn get worse?” Her voice had gone from sleepy to normal rather quickly, Roman being in pain always a quick way to wake her up.
“Mmm,” Was the only sound he made as he shoved his face down into his pillow. At some point in his sleep he must have rolled over on to his stomach, which Addy guessed probably was not helping his situation at all.
She scooted close to him, pushing his blanket down to where it was only covering his lower half so she could run her hand along his spine. She heard a loud gurgle move up his chest, followed by him swallowing harshly, and knew instantly why he wanted her to go back to sleep.
“Let it out Ro,” she whispered, laying down next to him now, but keeping her hand on his back. She laid her head on the corner of his pillow, waiting to see if he’d look up at her but he just kept his face buried in the pillow and making a sound that sounded somewhere between a no and a growl.
She could see his skin turning a bright pink which indicated he was getting embarrassed, but she knew from the sounds his stomach was making he really REALLY needed to burp. She was even more concerned when she actually felt the bubbles moving around through his back.
“It’s just gonna hurt more if you hold it in, so get it out baby,” she spoke so gently and so calming that Roman actually looked up at her for a second with pleading eyes that meant, “please don’t make me.”
She sighed quietly as he laid there looking at her, swallowing down another pocket of air that threatened to escape. Their faces were inches away from each other and Addy couldn’t resist the temptation of running her finger across the stubble on his chin when he made a slight expression of pain. So she pulled his blanket back up on his back so he wouldn’t get cold, and calmly comforted him by caressing his cheek.
They laid there like that for a couple of minutes, lost in one another’s eyes, until Roman’s stomach gurgled loudly again sending up another bubble into his throat. This time however Roman didn’t even have to fight it, the air just went right back into his stomach on its own causing a sharp pain to claw through his chest.
A whimper escaped his throat as he turned to lay on his side, facing away from Addy, with his hand on his chest.
“It hurts,” he choked out, rubbing at his chest lightly.
“That’s why you gotta get it out big guy,” Addy said, scooting closer, setting her hand on top of his hip bone.
“No it hurts to burp,” He whispered as his skin turned bright red again. Addy even felt the heat of the blush rush through his skin again.
“Ooh ok ok I know what will help hold on,” she exclaimed, jumping up out of the bed and quickly walking over to the fridge. She pulled out the gallon of milk from the back, making sure to smell it before pouring a rather large glass.
She quickly put the gallon back up, and walked back over to the bed. Crawling across it one handed, with the glass in her other hand, until she was back in her original spot next to him.
He had turned back over onto his back, and was slightly leaning up against the headboard with his pillow behind him, “Milk?”
“Milk. Just trust me.” She said, handing him the glass as he sat up more and pulled the blanket up to cover just his legs.
Now in this position she could see how tightly bloated his belly was and definitely understood why he was awoken by it. She watched as he took a couple of sips, careful not to drink to fast and swallow more air. Surprisingly he actually looked at her instead of trying his best to hide his face, as he brought his fist to his mouth, letting out a rather quiet burp into his hand.
“Oh wow, that actually helped.” Roman said, letting another burp out into his fist but he immediately made a pained expression as the burning sensation returned.
“Oof I was just about to say you’ll probably need to take a sip every time, at least that’s what I always have to do.” She said leaning in to brush his hair off his forehead.
So Roman did as he was told, he’d take a sip and then burp into his hand, which he had to admit was helping somewhat but it started to get stuck to the point he wasn’t able to get any air to come up yet his stomach was still very obviously full of it.
He made a small groan of annoyance as he tried his best to get more air to come up but it just wasn’t.
“Need help baby?” Addy’s voice was soft and sweet, almost like the milk she had gotten for him. But it didn’t matter how kindly she said it, Roman’s turned a fiery red as he looked away from her and closed his eyes.
At first she thought he was just going to ignore the question or pretend like he didn’t hear it, but after a few seconds and another angry gurgle from his midsection, Roman leaned forward with a nod, inviting Addy to sit behind him.
And she did not hesitate, quickly crawling over and getting comfortable behind her boyfriend so he could lay back on her while she worked her magic like fingers into his bloated belly.
And the relief came almost instantly, because as soon as she pushed into the skin right below his navel a rush of air shot up his throat so fast he nearly choked as the loudest and longest burp yet, poured from his mouth and into his hand which was now covering his whole mouth instead of just in a fist.
“There ya go, feeling better already aren’t ya?” Addy asked a small smile playing at her lips. But Roman didn’t look at her, just sat there hand over his mouth and eyes clenched shut.
“Roman?” She asked, worried that she had hurt him somehow.
“...m sorry..” his words were muffled by his hand but Addy could still make them out thanks to the room being so quiet.
“What are you sorry for sweetheart? Look at me Roman.” She pulled her hands back and reached up to turn his face towards hers, and although his eyes were clenched as hard as they could be she could see the tears starting to form in the corners.
Upon seeing that she immediately pulled him into a big bear hug, his face in her chest as she wrapped her arms around him and laid her head on top of his. He didn’t fight it either, turning his body as she pulled him in and letting out the quietest, shakiest sob into her chest.
“You’ve got nothin to be sorry for. You know that baby. But if you just need a good cry I’m right here, let it out.” She was whispering now, rubbing his back gently as she felt him shake slightly.
But instead of the loud sob she was expecting after telling him to let it out, she was surprised to hear and feel a belch that easily over powered the last one. It had to last for at least seven seconds as well, so she was pretty sure that was exactly what he needed to get up finally.
She felt him groan in relief, as his skin heated up even more, becoming the most embarrassed he had been all night.
“I’m really tired,” Roman sniffled into her chest, wrapping his arms around her tightly, “I don’t know why I started crying.”
“That’s ok baby, you just aren’t feeling good. You wanna try to lay down now?” She asked, pushing him off her a bit so she could look at him. Using the hem of her shirt to dry off his face, Addy gave him a little peck on the top of his head but she was surprised when Roman leaned his head in and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
“You’re amazing, and I love you. You know?” Roman whispered, still quietly sniffling every once in a while.
“I love you too sweetheart.” She said with a small smile as her cheeks were the ones to flush pink this time.
