red string of fate

[[My Muse: Kuruka Paxora]]
[[Well then…let’s get started! Hope you don’t mind me going more para-style for this, without her quirks?]]
Kuruka ran across the open field as fast as her legs could carry her, her dress flowing behind her as she went. She was clutching at a bundle of cloth in her arms, holding it close to her chest, like there was something fragile wrapped up within them. The jade-blood kept looking over her shoulder, like she was afraid some subjugglator was going to pop out of nowhere and kill her.
Certainly what she had done would cause many trolls to want her dead.
But it was a risk she had wanted to take. Well, maybe not entirely, but in some way she had asked for this. Her curiosity had lately gotten the better of her as she had begun looking deeper into the powers of her blood caste, and more about the rainbow-drinkers. Through her studies, she discovered that jade-bloods once used to work down in the brooding caverns. And, well…that made her want to go take a peek.
And now here she was, running for the hive of the only troll she trusted enough about this. But why trust him, anyways? Probably since they seemed to share a lot of interests—well, really just shared an interest in birds. But he was really nice! And he seemed pretty trustworthy. And she didn’t think she’d be able to handle this on her own. Kuruka could only hope that Varesk would be understanding.
She finally came upon the hive, which was luckily not too far from her own. Her legs felt like jelly, though, and she wanted nothing more than to fall to the ground and sleep. But she managed to stumble up to the entrance, gasping heavily for breath, and shifted the bundle in her arms to pound heavily on the door.
"Varesk?" she called, her voice weak as she was forcing air into her lungs. She took a moment to inhale a deep breath before trying again. "VARESK! Please…I need your help!"
