“As luminaries, visionaries, creators, futurists, & people manifesting a more loving & just world that allows us each to thrive in our unique brilliance, we must stop blaming each other for climate change. The deep ecological crisis we face is a symptom of capitalism, corporate greed, & decisions of a small group of people in power who choose profit for a few over life & abundance for the collective. Your partner who eats meat didn’t get us into this. Your classmate who doesn’t recycle didn’t create this global catastrophe. Your parents who forget to compost didn’t create this crisis, and can’t, alone, get us out of it. We must focus our efforts on the powers that brought us the climate crisis. ⠀ We must stop collectively moving in a way that creates guilt and shame around individual (in)action. This is a form of victim blaming—holding the victim of a crime wholly or partially at fault for the harm that befell them—& we must start moving in a way that acknowledges we are up against massive systems of power & profit. ⠀ We need one another. ⠀ We’re not saying you shouldn’t take individual action on climate (whether that’s ethical farming or reducing your personal carbon footprint, etc…). As @adriennemareebrown teaches us, simple, individual actions can be a critical part of embodying the world we want to see because of the ripple effects and patterns that “arise out of relatively small actions and behaviors.” ⠀ What we are saying is that we must turn towards collective action & system change. In blaming each other for the convergence of unregulated power, greed, white supremacy, & imperialism that created climate crises, we enable cultures that 1) misplace blame; 2) hinder meaningful collective action; & 3) target blame toward communities with the least responsibility for the climate crisis, such as BIPOC, people with disabilities, & poor & working class people. ⠀ We must begin (& continue) uplifting and supporting each other; & creating, organizing for, & visioning a new future together. We must care for one another in this time of massive change and look towards a regenerative & reciprocal tomorrow. We are not each other’s enemy, but rather each other’s comrade.”

Introduction of OCV Token

1. OCV ecological value circulation certificate
