A dove with its wings clipped
part 1 (you’re here!) part 2 part 3
Content you’ll see here: oc x Isaac night, Isaac night being dead, mentions of season 1
English it’s not my first language, so please be patient
Her legs were hanging from the table, the place was dirty but not from days were no one cleaned, the kind of dirt you’ll get when you work too much and forgot to clean afterwards
Still, the table she was sitting in had that place where it wasn’t any kind of dirt, not dust or oil stains, a type of clean you’ll only get if you keep cleaning it everyday
Well, a person cleans that spot everyday, Isaac Night, the Da Vinci with a fantastic brain, that’s the person who even if there’s a mess on the tower, he would keep that spot clean
Because that’s where she sat, the place where a dove would sit and see him work while working in a new invention
His sweet dove, he enjoys just hearing her voice muffling the sound of metal or the small explosions, however, they don’t happen anymore because he’s being too careful, nothing bad is supposed to happen if she’s around.
— How do you think a wedding between us would be? — spoke too fast, in his hands the machine destroyed itself, staining the protective glasses he was wearing, even so, she didn’t flinch like she knew nothing would stain her or like she knew about it happening.
Isaac turned his head, with his gift the glasses were moved from his eyes and he looked at her waiting for a “just kidding!”
It never came.
— I — he cleared his throat
— I think you would look beautiful as a bride — she giggled, the word bride on his tongue felt too weird and sweet at the same time
Bride, his bride
He never thought he would live past fifteen, but there he is, two years after that curfew thinking about a future with the person who gave his life a meaning, after Francoise, of course.
— My mom likes you, I’m sure she’ll be happy — Isaac went silent, thinking about what it could be
The vision, a white dress making her look gorgeous, though the idea of seeing a ring on her finger was even better
That… was a way to put it, a perfect way to live his days and maybe, die at her side; in that way he won’t be afraid of leaving this world
— One day I’m putting a ring on your finger — He smiled, one filled with excitement and something else
That’s when he tapped her knuckles, like it was an instinct, she lifted her hand from the table and Isaac’s fingers moved to curl around hers
He leaned, his lips pressing softly in a kiss, eyes filled with adoration and something else
It was a shame she could only remember it.
It turns out, the one holding her hand isn’t the love of her life, is actually her best friend Ophelia
— You know the rules, not breaking contact — she smiled, the flowers on her head moved when she moved to place the candle between them.
What kind of situation is this? Just a few months ago she was hugging his clock boy, while thinking what it would be like once they graduate but, now?
She’s with Ophelia, trying to call his soul to at least know how he died, because she doesn’t believe what the school said
Isaac Night, always has a plan B.
— This is perfect, a Raven and a Dove working together — Ophelia smiled at her, a way to ease the pleasure on her heart
— An idea only you would have — She mentioned, Ophelia chuckled amused at the way she said it.
Then it was all silent, no loud voices, just the whisper of them trying to make someone listen and send what they are looking for
Looking for Isaac
If she can have a wish, she wants to live on eternity with him or at least, see his lovely eyes one more time.
The next thing she knew, the candles were on the floor and the flowers on the room were on fire
What a bad thing…
She opened her eyes slowly, the voice of a teacher made her look at his direction, mad about being interrupted in such a dream.
Ah, of course she fell sleep on a moment like this, at least the teacher didn’t see her.
Someone poked at her arm, Xavier was on her side and he moved to whisper on his ear
— Do you want to get out of here? — She didn’t feel anything for Xavier, a nice guy but she was attracted to his mind
He isn’t a Da Vinci, but the way his mind works sent her a message, a way to tell herself to look more into it like it would resolve all her problems
It didn’t, but it turns out Xavier isn’t something for you to make rid off.
Her eyes fixated on Bianca who showed Xavier her phone, oh, she was interested on him
Maybe that would keep that kid out of her business.
How long has it been? She doesn’t even remember the sound of his voice, it’s a weird thing about the way her mind works, she tried so hard to keep the memory fresh but it’s impossible when everything feels that way
It’s pointless to think about it again.
She closed her eyes, the sound of Xavier’s and Bianca’s whispers made her feel more sleepy
It’s the first year for this generation, and also the first year of this life
The muffled sound of whispers changed, now it wasn’t the ones she heard just a few seconds ago
New voices, now whispering about something else and finally she opened her eyes.
Year two, and everthing has change, Tyler Galpin is on prison, Wednesday Addams is known for saving the school
And she? She acted like nothing happened.
She stood up once the bell rang, leaving the classroom she could hear pretty well what the students were talking about
— Do you hear about the ghost? No one knows who it is, but profesor Augustus told me it is still studying here — A girl mumbled to her friend, both of them carrying their books
The friend left out a gasp, surprised about that fact
— If I was inmortal, I wouldn’t want to spend eternity studying — she chuckled trying to ease the tension away.
What an odd thing to say…
Her phone rang, an alarm telling her to go to willow hill
What a coincidence, she sighed before taking her lead to the exit.
Everything moved too fast, although for a person like her, it was too slow, slow and torturing
This is too much, too much for her to handle, being on the shadow for too much makes her want to throw up
If she can, she would throw up all of her organs, only if that makes her more human.
Even when she is walking through halls of a mental institution, she feels like everything is bad for her to be around, too tired but too full of energy to stop herself
She hates it, she hates the way her arms moved behind her back when the guards alerts her to stay away from the door
She hates the way she smiled at him, assuring him nothing would happen
And she hates the view, Tyler chained to a wall
— Aunt Artemis? — his voice sounds too weak, he still finds the strength to move around the cell.
This is what the terrible Hyde has become, it’s horrible, of course, the consequences of actions he didn’t want to commit, but at the same time, dealt with them with the eager of a person who did mean it.
— Is good to see you, I was wondering when would our paths meet again — she smiled, Artemis tried to push her emotions aside
At her eyes, this man wasn’t less but a boy who trusted the wrong people, she knows pretty well how the whole Hyde world is
Still, horrible enough to make her heart ache.
She walked, her hand touching the bars, the boy walked to be closer, kneeling and putting his head against her fingers
Soft fingers that moved to caress his head.
This kid is the whisper of a promise, a ward she had to take care of, not a burden, just a promise she is going to keep until he dies
— When would I be free? — he mumbled, she ignored him behind a soft hum like she didn’t hear what he said
He didn’t repite himself, the words leaving the room like they never happened
A promise, but after so many years, does it still count as a promise? There’s no witnesses to prove it happened.
She could abandon this kid, leave the academy and pretend her old life never happened
She can’t, not when her heart asks her to keep him safe
So, her lips moved on its own
— Soon, Tyler, soon — after so many days, days where that question never got a real answer
Tyler looked up, eyes wide in surprise and he was ready to reply
There wasn’t time for it.
She walked a few steps back, the words trapped on Tyler’s throat, they never actually leave it
Yet, they both knew what he wanted to say
And that was enough, enough to keep his hopes up.
— I’ll come back once the time has arrived — she smiled leaving the room.
Another day, another way she would make this boy still believe in fate
She’s a liar, there’s no fate to blame but she acts like there is.
In a moment, her arm crushed against a person
Wednesday Addams, a girl who made her heart feel cold, also the girl who trapped her ward behind bars
— Excuse me — she said leaving the moment in a blink, something stayed on her hand, a button
She moved her thumb to touch it and that’s when it happened
She fell onto her knees with the sound of scared nurses around her, what a good place to faint.
Fainting is a good thing, it wouldn’t sent Artemis to this place where she would look at the three in front of her
Dirt, dirt that was never touched but this time it looks like someone dig to find something
There’s only one thing under that three, huh
It looks like Wednesday Addams is going to ruin something, again.
— Dove… — a voice, a voice she thought she forgot long ago made her turn around.
Those eyes filled with love, a man who enjoys his time around her and still with not enough time to spent.
Isaac night.
