Waiting Game

Octavian sat in the hospital room, reading a happy birthday e-mail from his mom on his phone. He wasn’t much in a mood to receive well wishes. Octavian sat in that same chair since the night he heard Noelle was in a coma, less than two days ago. He hadn’t left her side wanting to make sure he was there in case she woke up. She laid there peacefully, Octavian liked to think she was dreaming of a place far from here, some place she was happy. She deserved so much more than this school, Noelle had been used and abused far too often, if anyone here didn’t deserve the cruel treatment this place provided, it was her.
The cambion definitely hoped the memory Noelle was replaying in hear head right now, was not one of the last ones they shared. The two of them were fighting over whether or not she should try to get the compulsion taken off. It was heated, but he was afraid something like this would happen. He understood why she did it, and he wasn’t angry for it. He just wanted her to wake up.
Qhuinn had spent more time than usual at the hospital since Noelle had gotten sick. Typically she only went in when she was needed, or if there was a patient there that she wanted to check in on frequently. This certainly fell into that last category. Things were doing okay at the bakery, with Brian filling in when he could, and Eli, Finn, and Anna alternating shifts as they studied for their upcoming finals. Unfortunately this was their busy time, as cramming students needed their caffeine and sugar rushes. She thrived on the crazy though, always had.
The small wolf walked into Noelle’s room, armed with two travel mugs of coffee. Setting one in front of OC, she gave him a soft smile. “It’s not that vending machine crap, don’t worry. It’s the good stuff, from our place. How is she today..any changes?” she asked quietly, looking over at the brunette’s still form.
