Master of Disguise // Open
Agnes stood back, eyes darting around the room while locating each detective and grief stricken person. “Just lovely.” She muttered under her breath, eyes now searching for Troy among the crowd of people. Their plans had to change now and the the two needed to talk about how they’d adapt.
Once the woman had screamed, indicating Charles’ death, she had immediately made her way for the back of the room, wanting to be out of the way of the action. That was how she preferred it, after all. As an extra in a number Mr. Bennett’s movies, she wanted to blend in. It was her specialty. One that had managed to land her an invitation to the most glamorous party of the year.
With Troy nowhere in sight, the blonde sighed. She might as well try to blend in. In a movement that screamed nonchalant, Agnes reached into her small clutch and pulled out her compact, checking her make-up before allowing a single, fake tear to slide down her cheek, not that anyone would know it was fake of course. She was an actress after all. She put her compact away and turned to the nearest person, her face a mask of horror and grief. “How could someone do this?”
Dorothy stood as still as a statue, the look that suited the passive woman the best. But it was also genuine shock, as the image of her boss lying in a pool of his own blood flickered through her mind. No one deserved that..not even him.
The woman looked to the blonde who had spoken, someone that she recognized from the shows but had never really gotten to know well. “I don’t know.. It couldn’t have been someone here, that’s just not possible! It had to have been an intruder” That had to have been it, the more logical explanation.
