Kidding but like how did you manage to write such a dreamy Orion?? Every time he's on screen I cheer so hard, can't wait to see the will drama in the next chapter... am I delusional to think he'll publicly defend Hermione during the will's reading?

I am so glad that you are liking Orion! Maybe it was you? But the commenter who requested an Orion x Hermione from me wanted an Orion who could take care of and spoil Hermione, so I have been trying to approach this story with that in mind. The goal is to get him there eventually.

I do think that Orion is pretty honorable so I don’t think it would be a stretch to think that he will stand up for Hermione. He’s just carrying out Sirius’s wishes after all…….

I hope it isn't too disappointing, but I did want to say that Voldemort is not really going to be a huge plot point in Odalisque. Sirius's fall and the new paterfamilias's rise is sort of the broad stroke of the story, so we won't be going too much further past the selection of the next paterfamilias.

I am so excited that you are enjoying Odalisque! It really is so different from what I usually write and I am having so much fun coming up with all the details! Especially, as you say, I write time travel quite a lot and I am always looking for ways to make it not the same story just told over and over again. So I am glad that people are willing to read something so different from the usual Hogwarts/Tom Riddle focused angle with an unusual pairing.

Since your stories have been titled from song inspiration, is “Odalisque” also inspired by a song?

Haha yes! It’s taken from the song odalisque by the Decemberists, not so much for the lyrics, but more for the vibes.

And then that combined with just the dictionary definition of an odalisque. We haven’t quite gotten there yet but people are going to make some big assumptions about Hermione and Sirius’s relationship, especially as she gets older. We are in a block of chapters where a lot of time is passing quickly and then for the rest of the story, Hermione will be 20/21.
