(Alone Together) ² premieres at ODC Theater Festival
Spending many hours in a place can have two effects on person - it becomes too predictable and ceases to evolve; or you become curious about what else it has to offer. Catherine Galasso’s (Kat) work Alone Together, which I had the pleasure of performing in with a brilliant cast, evoked the latter reaction. We the cast were a group of people in a theater that many of us had performed in, watched performances in, or worked for in various capacities. With some much history, what could we make that felt both unique and specific to this space?
While we weren’t able to come together for the remount due to the pandemic, Kat always manages to find a way to bring people together. And so (Alone Together) ² came to be. Part-documentary, part-mystery poem, the film includes both spoken and embodied reflections on our time together.
It premieres tonight June 4, 2021 at 6PM (PDT) as part of ODC Theater’s Festival, with streaming access available through June 30th.
