I wanna talk more about my writing in the new year so here's some Heroes' Guild Development Trivia!
Pete/Electron was originally created to be Catherine/Tesla Coil/Voice of Reason's nemesis, a rare case of post-pubescent power development that made him become insane and obsessive (Obviously, that's an ableist writing choice and I'm glad I moved on).
He was considered for love interest before he was considered a hero. I liked the idea of Catherine being actively haunted by a lost loved one, because he's alive, just changed.
Singe/Black Dragon was similarly built to be a love interest for Skylar/Ember Phoenix, and then I used him to fill out the cast of Strangers (previously Humanless, previously Monstrosities)
The original cast of what would become Strangers featured early versions of Drake, Bobbi, and Charmer.
Charmer is so disconnected from the original idea, I could probably bring that idea back and no one would know.
Frank was the next character to join, then Singe, an early version of Syren, and Thoth last.
The Elementals are the first team I came up with, but the Abnormals has the earliest characters (not all of them, mind you)
Viktorya (Renfield)/The Fox was originally planned to be a telepath (and not necessarily a mage). Oracle was a singular position, rather than an, admittedly still rare, type of mage.
The first story I ever completed was about Harold and 11 other kids from his generation. I still plan to steal elements from it (e.g. setting up the specifics of all those backstories). A few others have shown up, but I don't want to spoil the group.
I have tried to get Juliet to cameo in other stories several times, but every time it gets cut. The woman actively evades showing up in a story if she isn't narrating it, I guess.
I thought about listing characters in creation order, but realized they were made so many years ago, I don't know the order.
