Femperkessings
Once I had a dream that there were these mythical creatures called femperkessings. They weren't actually real in the dream, but they were a known concept people were familiar with from folklore.
They're small fairy-like creatures maybe a few inches tall, humanoid but very thin and gangly, with sharp pointy features, and insect wings.
Femperkessings are mischievous, and are known for making people fall in love or develop crushes, especially strange or inadvisable ones. If someone has an odd crush and you can't figure out why they're attracted to that person, you might say, "The femperkessings are up to their tricks again."
