I’m a big fan of The Last Night and I’ve been following it from its cyberpunk jam conception throughout its years of hiding from the public (I still managed to uncover some secret GIFs and tweets along the way to keep the hype sky high). When the game was finally revealed at E3, I did a big breakdown of its trailer.

That’s why this new video from IGN hits so close to heart. We can almost literally dive into Tim Soret’s mind and see how he made all the choices that went into the trailer. It’s a unique behind the scenes look that says so much about his phenomenal art direction.

Now we just need to wait for that gameplay trailer he’s talking about.

All right, kids. Odd Tales and MS have both come out and denounced Tim Soret’s old tweet, and Soret himself has apologized for them. Not that any of that means anything but it does mean I’m willing to give the game the benefit of a doubt before passing judgement on its themes. I’m deleting that original post and blocking further notes on it and I know this is going to get buried by the initial firestorm, but god willing you’ll all do the same.
