Names for the Nameless

in light of the recent, if only smallscale, rise of “Netjeri Inktober” centered around the database found at demonthings.com, i thought i might as well try to compile something for them because let’s face it, some of us are suckers for the obscure.

i know for a fact i’m interested in working with some of these new faces, but what is one to do when the entity in question has no recovered name to refer to Them by besides some strange ID number? i’ve tried to ease the situation by coming up with epithet-style “nicknames” for some of these notable Netjeri, so i’ll be compiling them here with regular updates as i see them.

Netjeri are identified first by their ID number in the demonthings database, followed by the nickname given to Them for spirit work purposes. these are of course given with approval of the entity Themself.

Devotional painting for the Odd God Squad Qerhet is one of the eight primordial gods of the Hermopolitan Ogdoad. She has the head of a snake and is the female counterpart of Qerh. It is uncertain what aspect she truly represents, but it has been interpreted as Void, Air, Darkness, or Inactivity. In later versions of the Ogdoad she was replaced by Amunet. She is also very picky, and very specific about wanting to be painted as a coiled black snake on a black background, despite the fact that it would be super hard to see. Honestly, the photo shows the details better than the painting does irl. She is pleased tho. Dua Qerhet! Lady of Darkness! Lady of the Void! She who was there at the time of creation!
