8 for the Oddworld ask game!
Q: Which is your favourite level/cutscene?
...woa, that's a tough question! Not sure if I can answer accurately, I really need to think. For now I'll just take my fav moment from every game, then I'll try to decide at the end 😅
Abe's Oddysee: the barrel cutscene. Short but I really like the contrast between the cartoonish humor and the horror of the situation (falling into a barrel of freshly sliced meat, barely escaping the Sligs' attention). My fav level is Rupturfarms (escaping it).
Abe's Exoddus: I adore all the MOM bulletins with the Newcaster Slig. My favorite might be the one with 'Uncle Aslik'. His vicious hypocritical behaviour is cracking me up everytime! My fav level is Slig Barracks (the music... the music!💖).
Munch's Oddysee: The Humfrey/Irwin cutscene 👌 I used to perform this scene IRL with my brother all the time when we were kids. 'HUMFREY!"🤣 Such good memories! My fav level is Fuzzle Test (love the music too, it matches Munch's bouncy pace perfectly ^^)
Stranger's Wrath: The intro cutscene. Stranger is so badass! And the music is awesome! And the living ammo! And the Western world! The ambiance sending chills through my core! And and and... Awesome. Can't say what my fav level is though.
New n Tasty: I have no fav level/cutscene for this game. I liked it but it didn't move me (I still shall give it another chance in the future).
Soulstorm: ... the whole game has BEAUTIFUL cutscenes, I was in total awe at each of them. Plus it made me feel emotions I haven't felt with a game for a very long time. I laughed at the Slig Chauffeur/Molluck duo, I ached at Abe's distress in the Sanctuary. Everytime I pick a scene, another one overlays it. But...
But... yep. My fav Soulstorm cutscene and Oddworld cutscene is Soulstorm good ending. Mostly for Slig Chauffeur standing for himself and his (new) friendsies. He's the proof that Sligs can be more than brainless soldiers, showing intelligence (who would have thought he would have the balls to bargain MOLLUCK of all Glukkons, at the bestest possible moment for him?) and glimpses of consideration and emotion (the pride of getting what he was aiming at, the fear of that freaky Abe guy...)
Yeah, I'll stick with that one. Sorry for the long answer, I really had to gather my thoughts 😅
