Currently thinking about how rogue SecUnits are known to leave a swathe of destruction and dead humans behind, but the actual instances we know of where SecUnits end up killing a bunch of people like Ganaka Pit which was due to a malware attack, and in All Systems Red which had a combination of that hostile software update and combat overrides which were meant to be mistaken for a case of Rogue SecUnits are all human fabricated.

Meanwhile the actual in text examples of SecUnits whose governor modules have them disabled are for the most part nonviolent and rather overwhelmed with their sudden freedom.

There was that one CombatUnit that said it wanted to kill Murderbot when it offered to hack its governor module, but that seems more the outlier at this point, maybe CombatUnits are different or maybe that one was just an asshole.

Anyways my point was that in text it’s looking more and more as if those well known rogue SecUnit events are more likely to have been caused by the fact they have governor modules that malfunctioned or was taken over than that any governor modules had been disabled.

Been having a lot of feelings about Urizen

I replayed mission 10 of DMC5 yesterday and I've been having feelings about the fact that not only does Dante sense from quite a distance that that is indeed Vergil at the center of this, but Urizen greets him with "Dante."

Urizen, who is what's left, when Vergil removes what he considers to be holding him back, which includes his humanity and what seems like most of his memories. Urizen who stands before the illusion of their childhood home and tells Dante he has no recollection of this place, which also implies no recollection of their mother, that it's the tree that has crafted the illusion (from the echoes of the memories excised? Or from Dante when he was passed out for a month?)

And yet Urizen remembers Dante.

V also remembers Dante, and then I'm thinking about how V called Vergil Dante's purpose. And like what a presumption? It's been so many years, Dante could have moved on a thousand times. But I think it's because V cannot imagine Vergil not being Dante's purpose, it's utterly inconceivable because Dante is Vergil's purpose. It goes back to that whole description Lady does of their fight in DMC3, like despite the fact they are at odds they are having fun. The first thing he does when he is recovered is to tell Dante to heal up so they can have their fight.

So of course Urizen remembers Dante, there's no part of Vergil that doesn't remember Dante. The way I see it he's the reason Vergil came back.

So if vital stars are basically like crystallized life force, I’m now gonna headcanon that Dante gives them all to Lady post the games to help pay off his debts - cause using them isn’t stylish anyways - and that’s why Lady still looks so young.

Fandom is supposed to be fun.

This is just to say I won't ever be venting on here. I, like everyone else, have fic tropes I just don't gel with and that makes me roll my eyes. I even have some that makes me back so hard out of a story it's a wonder I don't have whiplash.

But I'm generally not gonna talk about what they are publicly. There's people who like those things or they wouldn't get written and I try not to drag their fun.

This is not to say I think people aren't allowed to vent. This is just a small nudge, asking people to consider where they do so and how big their potential audience is.

It is so easy to forget on tumblr when you feel like you're just shouting out to the void, to feel like nobody will see it anyways.

It is very easy in a discord server with a dozen active users who make up 90% of the messages to feel like this is a private place, even when there's hundreds of members who have access.

Personally, I prefer DMs or very small servers for if I need to vent.

Just, take care of yourselves. Find your niche of people you gel with. Focus on the fun.

All of them XD I love coming up with titles, it’s the best game.

They all have a purpose that fits their story, some are jokes or puns. If I have to pick my least favorite title above it would be The Queen, the Knight and the Pawn, because it’s a bit generic, but it does make a lot of sense for the story. If I did figure out a better title I would change that one, but I wouldn’t change the title of any of the others.

3; Bycatch, Trial by Fire and A Hunt Triumphant (which I had never titled because I hadn’t planned on sharing it at all XD)

12, so most of them basically.

None, and if so that’s unintentional. I’m terrible at remembering lyrics.

It’s hard to pick one, I feel they all fit XD The most literal one is probably A Hunt Triumphant because that’s where there AU diverges where the main character does not escape the hunting party he does in canon.

The Likable stories probably.

Pffffft, I want to say Some Assembly Required, but that’s because it’s some pretty morbid humor, and Luke is quite aware despite being amnesiac that he’s kinda broken.

Of these it’s Some Assembly Required or A Banter For My Death because of morbid humor. My actual favorite title is for a WIP that’s not uploaded anywhere yet.
