The lost dubs of Pretty Cure

For over 10 years, PreCure has had many chances at an international release. None of them seem to work out that well. The only season to get a known English dub was Futari Wa Pretty Cure, which aired on Canada’s YTV and UK’s Popgirl. We’ve already talked about William Winckler Prod.’s possible attempt on Yes! Pretty Cure 5. So, let’s look at some other dubs we never saw. 

4kids Entertainment (2006)

That’s right, Big Daddy 4kids once had rights to Pretty Cure. But... they did nothing with it before it was handed off to Ocean Production’s Blue Water studios in 2009, which lead to the dub we already know.  

Odex (2006?)

I can hardly find anything on this one. The Odex dub aired in Singapore. The only confirmed season that was dubbed Futari Wa. I’ve heard one place say Max Heart was going to be dubbed, but no where saying if it did or not. Apparently the voice acting is really bad. (From what I learned about Odex this seems to be the case with a lot of their dubs, here is an example from their Yu-Gi-Oh dub.) Hopefully, some day this dub will surface cause I’d love to experience it. 

Hopes for the future

There is rumored to be a Pretty Cure dub in the works by Saban Brands. There has been no official conformation on this, but it’s going under the title of Glitter Force. Hopefully, it won’t be in the pile of dubs that never happened.

Do you know where I can watch the Singapore/Odex dub of Yu-Gi-Oh ! ?

I’m very sorry to say Anon, but I don’t know. :/ There used to be about 80 or so episodes on Dailymotion.com, but the user must’ve deleted them. I heard a user named FVCODY on neoarkcradle.net upload the first 3 or 4 episodes, but his links don’t work. (I tried.)

If anyone knows where you watch the Singapore/Odex English dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, please help out anon. Thank you.
