Fireheart's Masterlist!
Hello, I'm Fireheart! You can call me Fire for short! I'm 18 and have ADD, and tend to go off on rambles when I get excited. I use she/her pronouns. I also like lots of things, and I'm in MANY different fandoms and tend to abruptly switch whichever one I'm hyperfixate on! Right now, I'm obsessed with G.I. Joe, especially the Sunbow cartoon! Below is some stuff on my blog you can check out! Just be warned, there's a lot of stuff down there! Art tags are: #my art, #fireheart draws, and #fireheart art! Original posts tag is (well, mostly original posts (because I briefly forgot the purpose/meaning of some of my tags a while ago...) #fireheart speaks
I hope you enjoy your stay!
Thanks to a long time fan and one of the hosts of Anime Hell, I was able to acquire not one, but five Harmony Gold dubbed episodes of Dragon Ball off of a tape...
For those of you who are too young to remember (or those who remember and never had copies), old VHS rips of Harmony Gold’s elusive attempt at dubbing the original Dragon Ball anime have now been shared to Internet Archive for the world to watch! Obviously, these are from a 30+ year old VHS so the quality isn’t high def, but it gives you an idea of how different the series would have been if they’d continued to keep the series rather than give up after a handful of episodes. Enjoy!
i think its very interesting that pinky dinky doo managed 2 get a japanese dub, which aired on cartoon network japan's equally as lost edutainment block pipora pepora. (cn's history with preschool/edutainment shows is very interesting. 1 which i might one day make a seperate post on.) and no footage of the show airing on cn japan nor audio exists of said dub. all we have is the names of the 1st season episodes, a promotional pic from cn japan's website and som of the dub actors, i want this to be found just cause i think its neat. (+ i wonder did they only dub season 1 or did they also dub season 2? side tangent but i lik season 1's animation and art style more than season 2. season 1's flash animation gives it a special charm that i feel lik season 2 lost in the transition over to 2.5d.)
another show ik cn japan aired that also has a lost japanese dub is angela anaconda, unlik pdd, we actually have footage n audio of the dub. its theme song and a promo.
It actually turns out Plenty of Toku has been dubbed in Spanish! Althought they were all only broadcast in Select Latin American countries. Ecuador & Peru got Flashman, Liveman, & Jiban, Guatemala got Solbrain & Janperson, & if you can believe it, Chile got KUUGA! (albeit only the first 20-something episodes) However, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE DUBS I JUST MENTIONED ARE COMPLETELY LOST!!! Except Ultraman Tiga. Ultraman Tiga has a Spanish dub available on Youtube.
Wow! Thank you for the information. I know there are a lot of dubs (English ones) from other countries like Singapore that have never been released commercially and are harder to find than Shonen anime without fight scenes but I had no idea a similar situation existed in Latin America. There is a dub archive now trying to preserve the English dubs of Tokusatsu but nothing for the Spanish ones. That’s very sad given that the Spanish speaking audience is so huge!
That said, knowing that at least Ultraman Tiga is accessible for Spanish audiences via Youtube is a great bit of news. Sharing the first episode here for anyone who wants to watch it and the rest. It’s a great show!
Thanks for the Info!
Sugar Sugar Rune (Cartoon Network Philippines/Omni Productions)
(I should probably say this isn’t just dubs that never came out, I’m also talking about dubs that are impossible to find, in case you’re confused.)
This is something I just found out about today. There was a english dub of Sugar Sugar Rune that aired in the Philippines. Other than that, I have only been able to find voices. Chocolat was voiced by Andrea Kwan (You may know her as the voice of Sakura Kinomoto in the newly released Cardcaptor Sakura dub, that aired on Animax Asian years before it was released here) and Duke was voiced by Michael Pizzuto. There are also a few voice actors listed that aren’t credited to any characters.
On a side note: After finding this, I just found several more magical girl dubs that aired in South East Asia with dubs that are impossible to find and have 0 info with them. Including this, I’ve found what could be info on My Melody’s Magical Adventure. I might make another post just listing all of these because most of them would make really short posts if I posted them individually.
