Top 5 Run Scorers in One Day Internationals in 2019
#SportsCrunch: #DidYouKnow who scored the most runs in 2019 in #ODIs? #RohitSharma #ViratKohli #OneDay #ODI #Cricket
Today we discuss the Cricketers with the most ODI runs in 2019. The 2019 season had also, in store, the biggest extravaganza of cricket, the ICC Cricket World Cup which England won based on a unique Cricket law. The earlier part of 2019 season would see teams using ODI matches to get to their best team combinations for the World Cup while the matches post Cricket World Cup would be more of an…

2nd ODI: Captain Dimuth Karunaratne Helps Sri Lanka Snap 8-Match Losing Streak With Scotland Win
Sri Lanka snapped an eight-match One-Day International losing streak ahead of the World Cup with a 35-run win over Scotland in a rain-affected match in Edinburgh on Tuesday. The Scots may not have qualified for the World Cup 2019 but last year beat tournament hosts and favorites England to prove they were well capable of causing an upset. Saturday’s opener had been abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain, but the teams had better luck with the weather second time. Dimuth Karunaratne, the new Sri Lanka captain, top-scored with 77 in a total of 322 for eight, just his second fifty at this level and first since he reached the landmark against Scotland on the same ground back in 2011.
It was one of three fifties on the innings, including opening partner Avishka Fernando’s maiden ODI half-century.
But both batsmen men dropped off Brad Wheal, Karunaratne at first slip on 13 and Avishka on 22 at mid-off.
Karunaratne received a third life on 36 when Calum MacLeod couldn’t hang on to a sharp chance at midwicket off left-arm spinner Mark Watt.
Sri Lanka pace bowler Nuwan Pradeep then took four wickets as Scotland slumped either side of being set a rain-revised target of 235, needing 103 off seven overs, and were bowled out for 199.
Five-Wicket Chris Woakes Wraps Up England Rout Of Pakistan
Chris Woakes took five wickets as England beat Pakistan by 54 runs to win the fifth one-day international at Headingley on Sunday. Victory, in their final match before the World Cup hosts and favorites name their tournament squad on Tuesday, saw England to a 4-0 series win after the first match was washed out. Woakes took three wickets for no runs in nine balls as Pakistan slumped to six for three in pursuit of a target of 352.
Babar Azam (80) and captain Sarfraz Ahmed (97) then kept England at bay but both batsmen were run out and any lingering hope Pakistan had gone with them.
Woakes needed just three balls to have Fakhar Zaman out, caught by Joe Root at second slip, out for a duck.
Abid Ali (five) was then lbw to Woakes, with Paul Reiffel’s decision upheld on umpire’s call.
Seam bowler Woakes then nipped one back to have Mohammad Hafeez lbw for nought, although replays suggested Reiffel’s verdict may have been overturned if Pakistan had reviewed the decision.
Babar, however, carried on from his 115 in a three-wicket defeat at Trent Bridge on Friday with a 59-ball fifty before advancing down the pitch to drive off-spinner Moeen Ali for six.
But a fourth-wicket partnership of 146 ended in frustrating fashion for Pakistan.
Sarfraz prodded at an Adil Rashid delivery and set off for a single.
Root was even closer to a century when he holed out off Hasnain, having faced 73 balls including nine fours.

Abu Jayed, Liton Das, Tamim Iqbal keep Ireland winless
Seamer Abu Jayed’s first five-wicket haul in only his second ODI coupled with the fifties from Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan led Bangladesh to a six-wicket win and kept Ireland winless in the tri-series. However, Bangladesh will be sweating over Shakib’s fitness after the allrounder had retired hurt during the chase with a suspected side strain.
Earlier, Ireland opener Paul Stirling put on a show, making 130 off 141 balls, and was well supported by his captain William Porterfield, who hit his first ODI fifty in more than a year, but their efforts went in vain as Bangladesh aced their chase.
Tamim set the tone with his second fifty in three matches this series, helping Bangladesh to another rapid start. He put on 117 for the first wicket with Liton and piled the pressure on Ireland with a flurry of boundaries. Tamim could have been dismissed on 22 had Gary Wilson hung onto a catch behind the stumps, but he went onto add 35 to his tally.
Liton complemented Tamim well and the particularly strong square of the wicket, keeping Bangladesh ticking in the chase. Both the openers were bowled, but Shakib and Mushfiqur then took over, adding 64 runs together in 10 overs. During the process, Mushfiqur became the fifth wicketkeeper to reach 5000 ODI runs after Adam Gilchrist, Andy Flower, Kumar Sangakkara and MS Dhoni. The stand, however, ended when Mushfiqur’s leg-side tickle was superbly intercepted by a diving Wilson.
Bangladesh 294 for 4 (Liton 76, Tamim 57) beat Ireland 292 for 8 (Stirling 130, Porterfield 94, Jayed 5-58) by six wickets ODI match 2019

Jonny Bairstow Century Sees England Overpower Pakistan
Jonny Bairstow‘s commanding hundred was the centerpiece of World Cup hosts England’s six-wicket win over Pakistan in the third one-day international at Bristol on Tuesday. England generally prefers batting first but captain Eoin Morgan decided to give them the experience of chasing just weeks away from the World Cup by opting to field first after winning the toss. Bairstow’s 128 in a score of 359 for four – England’s second-highest winning total batting second in an ODI – helped put the home side 2-0 up with two to play in a five-match series.
Test captain Joe Root made 43 as Pakistan became increasingly ragged in the field, England winning with 31 balls – or more than five overs – to spare. Moeen Ali was 46 not out, with Morgan unbeaten on 17.
The only downside for Morgan on Tuesday was that he risked being suspended for a slow over-rate — England took four hours to bowl 50 overs.
Earlier, Imam-ul-Haq’s excellent career-best 151 saw Pakistan to 358 for nine.
That left England with a seemingly challenging target, particularly as they had rested Jos Buttler following his match-winning 110 not out in the second ODI at Southampton on Saturday.
Imam surpassed his previous ODI best of 128 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo last year before he was bowled, giving himself room, by Curran.
