context -> every time he drinks heavily, dionysus tells him to stay somewhere else, and every time, odysseus doesn't listen. except this time, dionysus actually snaps. he remembers odysseus expressing his disdain for being suffocated, and so in an alcohol-induced state of aggression, the theatre god does exactly that.

i think dionysus is very much a flower person, but he also just adores anything with a meaning behind it.

that being said, the flower ody's got is my best attempt at an aster! they represent love as well as patience, with the latter being something their relationship has been heavily grounded on. neither of them were very willing to open up to the other at first (the amount of effort they both put in to avoid meaningful conversations was wild), but patience has begun drawing them out of those habits.

the flower's name also derives from the greek word for 'star', and the stars have always been very important to dionysus, but especially so after the whole ariadne situation.
