My university is utterly failing at the "don't make everything a subscription based model" and also the "please use tuition sensibly instead of fucking around everyone and propogating dead-end bureaucracy, thanks"
I can FINALLY afford it, but do I buy the ticket with “limited video view” for Sabrina Carpenter?? Or do I hold out and try for a better seat?
Imma put a pause to my history homework and draw this. I’m a bit concerned.
June 30, 2019 - Time to ‘fess up
Tonight I am pulling a double shift at the hotel, so a run or ride is going to be sort of difficult. Yesterday I got in a short ride, and tomorrow looks like I’ll be making a longer ride or run. So I have that to look forward to.
In my last fitness-related post I brought up how much worse I felt after Friday’s short ride than I had after Thursday;s long one, in spite of how the temperatures and breezes were comparable on the two days. A few people suggested that my level of hydration might have been what made the difference (and by the way, thanks to everyone who gave a suggestion). I am going to have to come clean here: toward the end of last week, I gave in to my cravings for Diet Coke and drank them (WAY too many, I see now) in the morning and afternoon than I did water. My sleep definitely suffered for it, and I can believe my exercise hurt for my choosing fizz over health and hydration.
So today I decided to kick the cans and drink just water instead. We sell bottled water at the front desk, and I’m afraid free water is NOT one of the perks of the job. But I reckoned, if I have to pay for it anyway I might as well pay for something that’s good for me instead of that poison. (And yeah, I admit the cola is not good for me but I drank it anyway.) I drank a pretty fair amount of it, too, and I have to think if I’d been putting as much Diet Coke in my body as I put water today - like so many, I take in the product and don’t really notice how much I’m drinking - then no wonder I couldn’t get to sleep the past few nights!
I’ll be in bed by a little after 11 tonight, and on the road a little after 3 tomorrow, Tomorrow evening I’ll try to post how it all went.
