Crystal and Yeowool
listen to me okay listen. narrative parallel dead father twins. both of them are defined by men who mean so much more to other people than them as individuals but their respective corresponding relationships are so vastly different. two different kinds of haunting. side thing but Yeowool being mistaken for a guy could also parallel Crystal's experiences in different bodies I thought of this and wanted to chew on it.

3. Olly and Warren
I think there is certainly something interesting to be said about the gradual devolution of Olly's one sided obsession with Eli but I also think if I were trying to formulate a relationship that actually functions in any capacity the inherent imbalance between them on so many different levels would just make them hard to work with in a romantic sense even if their platonic dynamic fascinates me. Warren on the other hand is something of a bystander during the time Hostel actually fell apart but he's the person who gets left in charge of the aftermath and I do think even though Hostel arc was already very well written, Warren loses out a little in terms of only really displaying care for Sally in any capacity with every other member of the family (other than the girls obviously) just being implied. and it did throw me off a little bit how little he cared about Olly prior to Olly's death (like in the apparently several years of Hostel A and B was this really just purely antagonism?) anyway I think this could be enriching. I think even if Warren not caring about Olly initially adds to Olly feeling completely alone in their family, I would be interested in whether he feels differently in retrospect. is there any guilt there. wait lowkey I'm just turning him into Zack now with the whole could-i-have-saved-you hm. not sure if this works but i will be thinking about it

Gitae (in a better universe they compete for who Jake likes more but in this one idk how this would work out because I do think Gitae could and would kill him and this is quite inconvenient for character studying),
Ryuhei (join me in deleting Mitsuki off the face of the universe. maybe ryuhei would be tolerable if the person he was giving unconditional loyalty to was not Evil. idk mainly i still don't know if I like ryuhei enough to be thinking about him but he is a Character from an angle and I think if he were capable of thinking of anyone other than Mitsuki as a valuable life this should logically (if PTJ cared at all) lead to some level of internal conflict),
Yoojin (lowkey this is just the most toxic combination possible given that Yoojin did basically let someone buy him and also I'm not sure how it would work but I'm thinking about it).
I know he has Yeonhui but she is simply not a character to me I am afraid. wait I can ship him with James Lee. wait wait wait wait
