“ did you miss me? “

Caan rocked on its wheels as it emerged from the Time Vortex, hastily engaging stabilising thrusters to keep its casing from toppling over. Its eyepiece refocused and then refocused again as it slowly rolled forward. This room looked strangely similar to the one it had just vacated. Identical, in fact, save several unfinished sections of wall and ceiling and not nearly as much technology. And the Doctor was gone. A feeling that was perhaps anticipation or hatred but most definitely not fear subsided as Caan moved past the spot corresponding to where the Doctor had been standing in the last room.
There was always the possibility that its emergency temporal shift had only moved it through time and not space. Caan took the elevator to the ground floor immediately. Not only could it get a better look at the building from outside, but if this was the same place in a different time, it was crucial that it not meet itself.
An examination of the structure's exterior confirmed Caan's suspicions. It needed to get away from the Empire State Building, as soon as possible.
Another temporal shift this soon after the last was out of the question; its power would drain to dangerous levels. Fortunately, Caan had been specially trained to think creatively. It manoeuvred into the street, overlaid a virtual map of the city onto its visual display, and headed for Broadway. There, as it understood, humans were less questioning of beings with unusual appearances.

Maybe she had been too reckless, maybe she shouldn’t have come here. But maybes didn’t change the fact that she was now walking up the stairs to a certain death if she didn’t find a way out soon. Luckily for her, the judges and guards had been ignorant and careless enough to dismiss the Vortex Manipulator as some strap of leather on her wrists and even though her hands were tied, she had managed to type a short message with the approximate coordinates for her husband to come help her.

“You can’t actually be serious.” said Rory, pouring the hot chocolate into two mugs and handing one to the Doctor. “Snow White And The Seven Keys To Doomsday? You just made that up!”

ofbowtiiess liked this for a starter
That man… That gangly right there. He recognized him vaguely through memories that did not belong really to him. That was the one called the Doctor. Fate had liked him. Such an idiot.
He didn’t need anybody.
The opposite reminded himself aloud of such as he walked through the London night, heading directly towards Fate’s old “friend”.
Friends.
The idea was so pointless. To rely on someone… To give them anything of yourself, it was a bad idea. Foolish. To need anyone else was weakness. He wouldn’t have Fate’s weakness. He would purge himself and the world of Fate’s weakness before he died. He didn’t want blood; he wanted redemption. Redemption in the form of blood. The blood of Fate’s “friends”. Two were gone. This one was next. Doctor or not, there would be no healing.
“You can’t heal anything. You’re a terrible Doctor,” he murmured, approaching the man with no hesitation and no signs of fear. He was unarmed, having lost his bar long ago, but he needed nothing but his hands, in his mind. “Terrible Doctors are pointless.” Pale yellow eyes glared in simple-minded hatred.
