Wait. What is OFCA? I write fanfiction and I’ve never heard of this.
First, apologies, this became a little more ranty than I was going to be, but I'm beyond pissed at this point.
Honestly, I have no fucking idea. I don't know why these people are, or why that are messaging me. I've never interacted (knowingly, I should add because I don't know who they are at all) with them. If they are any of my mutuals/followers we have never spoken about it.
In fact, if you ARE a mutual, or someone who follows me, feel free to take this as an invitation to talk about how fucking inappropriate this is.
This is the second time they have left a 'review' on my fanfic telling me "news" on what a "wonderful" job they are doing by purging the OC community of who they find 'undesirable' .
I've deleted them both times, but I do still have the email notification. This is what the email said (it cut the end off because it was sooo fucking long). I have also blanked out names because I don't want promote anything they are saying.
"So we have some alarming news to share. [namehere] has apparently started yet not one but TWO false blogs to deceive the wider OC community under the guise of going 'straight'. The more active of the pair of blogs is [namehere]. We strongly suggest you block and report. We also suggest you check for any stolen work or OCs you may recognise as your own. We are here to support you if you feel threatened or in danger. There is no space for felons in our precious community.
We are aware of a smut movement that is taking place as well. We have tried to speak to [namehere] who continues to provoke us with her childish attitude. She refuses to consider our extremely valid point of view of creating a clean and pure community. Meanwhile, [namehere], continues to soil the very air we breathe with her ongoing foul presence. We will continue to persevere in our attempts to convert her to the right path. Do not read the smut and do not request it. Block and report. We have heard reports of certain individuals such as the grotesque [namehere] and [namehere] engaging with [namehere] and [namehere] to further this ridiculous smut movement. Indecency should never be tolerated. We shouldn't have to block and filter. There should be no need for tags. There should be no smut non-stop.
I'm sorry, but what the fucking hell was this supposed to do?! Like, you have never made yourself known to me or others you are spamming with your self-righteous bullshit.
Also, I have written a LOT of smut in my time. I don't anymore because I felt like I didn't have much to add to my story with it anymore, but it's just proof that they don't actually care about who they're sending it to.
And finally, yes you should ABSOLUTELY have to block and filter. It is no one's responsibility but your own to curate your online experience. I've been online in some form or another since the late 90's, it's what you do. You either need to grow the fuck up or you're too young to be on here. There is no other option.
