The dry heat of the desert was just about the furthest thing from the cool rain of Seattle back home. While it really wasn’t all that surprising to most people that she’d decided to enlist in the army as a medic, deep down Delia knew that she was right where she needed to be. Certain loved ones weren’t exactly thrilled with her choice, but they came to an understanding with time. That particular morning had seemed to be filled with wounded soldiers at every turn, but things had finally begun to settle down enough to where the team could enjoy a much needed and well deserved break. Hopefully it wouldn’t prove to be nothing more than the eye of the storm. “I can’t be the only one who could use a drink right now,” she mused in response to Chili’s question while stealing a quick glance down at her watch.
