sarrai links her arm with his for safety and all that.
Everything about this place was strange and unsettling. Everything was so dark, and that water was strange. Sarrai had vomited and then it was just…gone. From his experience, sick tended to float. Berry had told them that this had something to do with her Patron; which in and of itself was something new they had learned. And after crossing the bridge, and being met with the gatekeeper, they all lost something.
They weren’t exactly sure of what, but something was missing from each of them. And whatever had been taken from himself? He was scared. Suddenly the world, while scary before, was much more so. Everything was a threat. He didn’t know how to fight! How could he? He’s just a carpenter! I mean, sure, he could use his saw! But it was designed for building, not breaking. And not to mention those faces he had seen. Something pulled from deep within his mind. A small, fragile memory. Was that what the gatekeeper had taken? A memory?
The faces he had seen shook him to his core, almost as much as the fear that gripped him soul. Two tritons. A woman, with long, dark green hair that reminded him of kelp. Hair very much like his own. And a man, with well kept hair and a beard, both as red as the most brilliant coral. Dhimiris had no memory of either of them. To his knowledge, he had never met a single triton before. Ever! He was an orphan, sold into slavery since he was born. The new brand, with the old on right beside it, was a stinging reminder of his status.
Dhimiris followed his friends like a puppet, using Babita and Vahn as shields. He knew they could protect him. Especially as his mind began to hurt as he tried to process everything. And that was when he felt a tug of his arm. Turning his head to the left, he saw the familiar head of pink that belonged to their newest friend, Sarrai. Was she still feeling ill from all of her drinking? Was she scared too? Or perhaps she had noticed his thousand yard stare in his eyes, and how scared he was. Either way, he was glad for her support.
“Thank you, Sarrai.“ He said while forcing a smile to his face. “Let’s all stick together in this, alright? Maybe i’ll build you a portable chair when we get back to the surface. Perhaps I should make us all portable furniture for our journeys.”
