"Leave me. Today I cannot ride."
Unchained & Unbroken;; for ofdragonsandflame
Sounds of battle echoed on and on, yet the Dothraki exile did not know what was being fought. His wrists and ankles were raw and bloody from the far too tight shackles he wore. Chained to the wall like an animal, exhausted beyond the point of caring, he allowed his body to relax and the hard metal dug into his skin further. Sweat dripped off his forehead and when the shrieking of metal signaled that the mouth of the dungeon opened once again, his body shuddered.
They had beaten him--bashed a wooden plank riddled with nails against his skull--even threatened to make him a eunuch. It did not matter to Vazjol. He was an exile--he was nothing. A Khaleesi for him was impossible. He remained unbroken even in his chains. Now, every inch of his body was caked in dried blood. Some open wounds were festering--he did not know how the blood flies got into this forsaken place, but they had and now they crawled along his body. Unable to shoo them away, he grew accustomed to the constant buzzing.
More footsteps and shouts--then a woman's voice. He saw them rape women before--perhaps they'd do it again. Khals and their bloodriders were known to do such things. Slavers were no different. But the voice of this woman sounded strong and sure. Eyes hazy, he lifted his head to try and get a good look at her from across the hall.
Blood dripped from Vazjol's split lower lip and onto the blood splattered floor. Perhaps it was a trick. No woman commanded men--not unless they were Dosh Khaleen--and the woman that spoke common could not be such a thing. That much the exile knew.
Moving On
How long had it been now since they set the funeral pyre aflame and watched as Drogo was sent off into the night lands on a cloud of smoke? She couldn't remember anymore. The only good thing that had came out of losing her husband and child was the birth of her dragons. Even though they were a joy to have around in her life she still ached for her dead husband. It was obvious in her face and they way that she acted how her smile was forced around her people. She wanted to do nothing more than curl up in her tent and cry into her pillows, but she needed to be strong for her people, her sister, and her dragons.
Daenerys kept a stiff upper lip as she walked into her tent and saw her twin sitting in there watching the dragons play. She was fascinated by the creatures much like Dany was. It must have been in their blood, the blood of the dragon that's what Viserys always called it. She didn't believe that she even was a true dragon until the funeral with the flames licking her skin and feeling like a lover's touch more than anything. She went and took a seat next to her sister on the cushions and watched the dragons.
"The camp has been set up. Irri will be bringing our afternoon meal soon." She said not sure what to say anymore. She had seemed to have lost her words when it was just the two of them. It was easier to act for the khalasar because they didn't know her as well as her twin. She tried to act for her, but it didn't matter she would see through it anyways.
