It's been years since I touched the Steven Universe style, but here are some off-color doodles! I'm excited for Lars of the Stars!

Does Lars know about Gems poofing?

No, I'm serious. Whenever one of the Crystal Gems poofed, it wasn't around him. And the Off-Colors got back to Earth in the forms that we meet them, so it can be assumed that they were never poofed on their way to Earth.

And we know, that in the original show, that whenever they wanted to update a character design that they would just poof them.

So, what happens if one of the Off-Colors gets poofed during Lars of the Stars? Does he know about gems poofing? Did Steven at some point inform him that this is a thing that can happen? And even if he does know that it is a thing, that doesn't mean that he might not freak out a little.

Because here's the thing. At some point, at least one of the Off-Colors is going to be poofed. Because they are main characters now, and they'll want to update their designs.

And when they do, will they put little skulls on their outfits?

Lars & the crew being called "The Off-Colors" is lowkey so funny bc based on how it's used I'm pretty sure 'off-color' counts as a slur. Like the way Holly Blue uses it against the Amethyst guards in the zoo arc - it's clearly something offensive and dehumanizing.

So it's equivalent to a rebel group being called "the tran/nies". which like. real and iconic of them don't get me wrong. but does Lars know this

A late additional thought to my post on Padparadscha a few months back, I keep thinking about it now and then and find it funny how two core members of the Off-Colors have main characteristics of being slow in their own ways. Padparadscha's reliance on her predictions causing her sense of time to be delayed entirely, and Fluorite being a fusion of six causing her slow speech because her components need to have a one-track mind on everything happening around her.

I remember I've seen tons of posts in the past pointing out how Padparadscha and Fluorite are annoying because of these traits, how repetitive the jokes are around Padparadscha's delayed reactions and just overall getting impatient towards Fluorite to finish any sentence (yall gotta learn to slow down watching anything fr), and I really am curious how Lars of the Stars is gonna tackle them both in particular, for a lot of reasons.

I just made the connection that one of the reasons Lars hanged out more with the Off-colors post Chang Your Mind is that... his life span is going to way longer now. He is likely going to live hundred of years, like gems.
