i really like them for a variety of reasons..but the most prominent is i just love how they're written. their storyline is so realistic and the way it's portrayed makes it really feel so desolate and hopeless for the two of them and the way their relationship (and just the shishitoren arc in general) is carried out in the story is so dramatic and really feels like a tragedy that still managed to turn out (on the path to) well for the two of them. they just make me feel so much emotion and they really get me thinking more and more about people and relationships in general. which was something I already loved doing.

On a much more personal note I also think the reason I feel so attached to them is because when I first watched the shishitoren arc I was in a relationship much like theirs, my behavior was very similar to togame's (even down to seeing him as "the sun") and watching the series and seeing a mirror of me and my (at the time) boyfriends relationship from an outside perspective made me realize how harmful it was for me to be acting that way, and it woke me up and helped me make a change. I think wind breaker and togatomi is a big reason as to why I'm still such great friends with that guy, which makes me definitely feel a lot more fondness towards them and the series in general.

As for favorite things about them I really like their whole aesthetic and kind of vibe around them. God I really am so bad at putting my thoughts and feelings into words but just seeing them in general makes me feel so peaceful and almost nostalgic(?). Not to mention just how hopeful they make me feel about life and the world (referring to their redemption) with the whole relating to them and stuff.

I also really like just thinking and talking about them, mutually toxic relationships and enabling are super interesting to me as someone with a huge interest in psychology and that on top of every other reason why I like them is just quite da cherry.

Their dynamics, character designs, and how they interact with eachother I really like aswell. They're just really enjoyable characters both on their own and together. They're really neat and also cute sometimes #aww

Unpopular opinionnn I dont really check in with the fandom too much so I don't know how unpopular this really is but I've always believed that they can be considered canon even though it's never explicitly said.

Sometimes the work should be able to speak for itself without them outright saying that their feelings towards eachother are romantic and honestly that's usually the BEST way to be.

I was gonna go more in depth about that and I would really like to but my brain is kinda broken right now and I've never been good at expressing my thoughts, i hope i got my point across still i had to type and retype it a lot

hes alright i like his design and backstory and his connection to sugishita. his arc also made me shed a few tears i feel bad for my boy.
