A FRIEND AND I'S STEVEN UNIVERSE AU CHARACTERS.

Steven Universe has been my favourite show since 2019 when I properly watched it from start to finish. I remember crying when I realized it was over, it was such a beautiful show that has forever lived in my heart.

I created this Future AU in October 2023 with a close friend who had also fallen in love with the franchise. I created Tous/Peridot, and soon after, my friend came to me with this outstanding creative idea for a character of her own. That's when I helped her design Opalite, a one of her kind artificially made gem prototype. The AU I set quite a while after the death of Steven himself.

A very brief rundown of the AU:

Opalite was artificially made by the Diamonds through a new project process that was left to be developed by tech gems (like peridots) way back — a bit before pink diamond was announced shattered. With the late Era 1 materials they had, it was designed to use artificial materials for creating gems rather than using the minerals from organic planets. This would allow gems to be made on Homeworld with 100% designed perfection, and no loss of their decreasing materials along with other reasons to soon be discovered. 

The project was forgotten about through the SU saga until years after the man himself perished. It was discovered again during White Diamond’s overpowering thirst for a new era of conquering.

Opalite, the long-forgotten prototype design was already prepared to be tested…

Through the story she meets and becomes close to Tous — a funky little peridot who helps Opalite discover who she is in this empire, and universe.

During the story, Tous and Opalite end up fusing. The before and after story is… lengthy so use your imagination for now. They become the beautiful Labradorite.

Along with Opalite living as a high-class gem, she was given a pearl to take care of her. I don’t currently have a design for her :(

Sans AUs x Fusion Gem s/o

Got an awesome request, and I needed to write it out. Disclaimer: I’ve never watched Steven Universe

I don’t do poly headcanons, but I thought this idea was really fun, so the idea is you are one half of a Fusion Gem! I was stuck between your other half being a bestie or a sibling since both would be fun, so I left it ambiguous and you can choose!

You were seriously injured during a fight, and as such, you and your Platonic Other Half (sibling or bestie) can’t be apart for longer than say… 24 hours, because you’re Soul/Gem is severely damaged and needs a Fusion to keep from leaking out your life force.

His Opinion Of You In Fusion:

It’s a little awkward for him when you’re in full Fusion, just because he’s so used to being affectionate when you’re separated that he goes in for a kiss and then abruptly remembers it’s not just you in there right now. He adjust very slowly, but given a few years, he’s got it down.

He’s pulling out a fresh notebook with a million questions on the tip of his tongue. You are the most fascinating creature and he must study you.

You two are so cool. He’s slack jawed the first time he sees your fusion. It’s like a battle transformation from a tv show and he loves it.

His Opinion Of Your Other Half:

He reacts very similarly to if you had a twin. He finds himself reassured that you have such a strong bond with someone else. A family to support and love you.

Honestly your other half and him act more like the Fusion than you two do! It’s like they share a brain cell or something! At least one person has joked that, platonic or romantic, you clearly have a type.

My poor boy struggles with the jealousy. How is he supposed to compete with someone you’ve essentially bonded Souls with? How could he be a part of your life when your survival relies on the person he envies? He really tears himself up about it. He’ll definitely need to have a long talk with you to work through his feelings.

His Opinion Of Your Injury/Disability:

He’s so overprotective when you’re not Fused. To be fair, your Gem is constantly leaking magic (think like Color’s skull) and it triggers those protective instincts.

He tries not to bring attention to your injury. He has his time with you and it shouldn’t be all about your ‘leaky Soul’. He won’t actively avoid talking about it, he just tries to treat you like a normal person.

Hot take but 98% of Steven Universe hate stems from misogyny simply because the show focuses significantly more on female characters and their own struggles instead of it being a male-focused brainrot gooner show but I don't think my generation is ready for that conversation.
