Galaxy Motorsports has announced that they have signed Otter Pops to be the sponsor for the #58 Chevy, along with Snap-On and Sportsmans Precision Racing coming from Rick Ware's partnership. Otter Pops will be the primary sponsor until the NAPA Auto Parts 500 @ Fontana then it will scale back to being an associate sponsor with Snap-On rumored to be the replacement primary sponsor. Wally Dallenbach will drive with Jim Long as the crew chief, until Dallenbach moves to the NBC booth during the July Daytona race.

NEW DAYTONA 500 FORMAT

NASCAR has instated a new format for the Daytona 500, having 2 qualifying race, one to set the Duels, and one to set the grid for the Daytona 500. The change to the format seems to be motivated by a notion that the drivers have a second chance if they perform poorly in one of the Gatorade Twin 125s
