@offaired called in for a possessed gal!
IT’S EASY TO GET INSIDE. locks on doors cannot keep it out any more than her commendable attempts padlocking it out of her mind can. she doesn’t miss a single slow stride as she grabs the stone frog decoration from the front yard, holds the doorknob in one hand and lets the strings raise her other ... hit, hit, hit ... it’s too easy to get INSIDE. they never stood a chance, none of them.
it searches, combs through memories of this house, of her bending over a table pointing at notes, of laying on a couch, of leaning against the door frame ... it finds resistance, suddenly but not unexpectedly. it still finds what it’s looking for. her fingers release and the frog thuds on the carpet. it has to drag her feet, force her to follow the trail of warm memories to the room it seeks. her feet stop, but it did not tell them to. her breath catches when it winds tighter around her throat, and she moves again.
it doesn’t want the girl sleeping in the bed DEAD ... not yet. she still has a purpose to fulfill, but the quickest way to stab her brother through the chest is through her. there’s too little division. he trusts this puppet too much still, and it gives her strength to fight, to keep it at bay for far too long, long enough to be irritating. she’s fighting now, fighting to prevent her hands from taking the pillow, from pressing it over the girl’s face and holding ... it waits ... waits to feel them both struggle to sustain their loosening grip on life.
