Winning Tuesday
I just used a mini binder clip to tweeze a very obstinate nose hair. I felt like MacGyver. It was exhilarating.

Tips for a hot working day
1) Drink! Water, Tea, Coffee, Juice, doesn’t matter, just drink enough. Although tea and water are the best for your body to hydrate. If you don’t wanna drink warm tea, let it cool down (maybe prepare it at home beforehand. Maybe also add a little sugar to it when it si still hot so you survive the time until you can taje a lunch break without craving too much for food.) Get a drinking bottle you can refill again. The empty cola bottle is just as fine as a glass bottle, whatever you prefer.
2) Open a window if you’re allowed to. Fresh air can come in and fresh oxygen boosts your brain better than the standing air in the room.
3) Officerooms can get unbearably hot! Take a small deodorant with you as a roller or spraybottle. It is small and fits into your bag. You can use it on the toilet without a poblem, if you slip it in your backpocket or pocket of your jeans.
4) Got up early for your job ? You may have been awake in the car or train but after a few hours of work you feel tired? Splash cold water in your face. It helps you concentrate. You can do this before or after your toilet-breaks.
5) Your body feels dizzy because of the heat? Let some cold water run over your hands and wrists for a few minutes (or dip it into it if you want to save water). It cools your bloodstream and thus eventually your brain. The dizzyness will go away.
6) You have a waterbottle at your desk/workingplace. Take it and dip a tissue in it. Dabb the wet tissue under your eyes on the eyebags, behind your ears above your brows and underneath your chin. The coolness will boost your system and wake you up again too. It also helps you concentrate. Store the tissue in an empty tissue package so it won’t soak your workplace and you can stillreuse it, without wasting too many tissues.
7) If you’re working on a computer for a long time, use the same wet tissue to dabb on your closed eyes. It cools them and they’ll get strained less likely. Still, take maybe 2 or 3 minute breaks every hour to let your eyes rest a bit. This is perfectly fine and your boss shouldn’t complain, because you’re boosting your productivity.
8) Suffering from allergies? Dont let the window open for too long. And always take your anti allergy meds with you. Also some nose ointment an work wonders.
9) Nosebleed can happen if you have allergies, the air in your working enviroment is very dry or you blew your already strained nose too hard. To prevent the amount of nosebleeds you can get through these enviromental interferences, use a nose spray in advance. A simple saltwater or anti allergy nosespray can help. You can also use ointment specifically made for your nose. They prevent the inside of your nose from getting too dry.
10) If you work longer times on a computer, stand up sometimes. Take 2 or 3 minutes to stretch. Move your arms and shoulders and shake your legs a little. Your bloodcircuit will flow better and you’ll feel better afterwards. If you are embarassed or don’t want anyone to see you, you can do this on the toilet too before/after a toiletbreak.
11) Listen to some music. When you’re alone in an office-room, listen to some music. Via headphones or on the radio. Many companies allow their employees to listen to music, because it boosts the mood and some even are more productive with a song on their lips humming. Also, it drowns out the big silence in the office and makes you forget you are all by yourself.
12) Nobody always likes their job. No one. Try to stay positive and think about the work you have done, not the work ahead of you. Sometimes our progress gets lost or seems so small when we look at the work ahead. Still, look back and smile, because damn, you managed to do so many tasks.
With summer coming up and getting hotter everytime, I put a list together what might help to survive long and especially hot office days. (Not everyone has holidays or many students are working inbetween them. These tips are cheap and easy.)
These tipps are drawn from my experience. I don’t know if everything will work for you, but I think these tipps help to survive a long day in the office/company you work at.
Have some wonderful days and keep your head up. (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ
