Official Visual :: Lil' Wayne's "How to Love" w/Cameo by Tristan Wilds
The official visual for Lil' Wayne's How to Love hit the internet last night and the story board for this one is thought-provoking. It is rare that you see Lil' Wayne videos on The Queen's Castle, but there are situations exposed in this video that occur everyday in our community and are not addressed, unfortunately allowing history to repeat itself.
The mature context and images in this video further push the dialogue about molestation, multiple pregnancies, single-parenting, domestic abuse, black male incarceration, prostitution and HIV/AIDs in our communities. For some reason, popular culture in our society is responsive to confrontational images through these types of mediums, which help to open a vessel for necessary discussion to occur.
Here are the facts :: Forty-nine percent of sexual assaults are against girls under 16 years of age. In 2009, for every 100,000 black males, an estimated 4,777 are held in federal or state prison or a local jail. Of the more than 1 million people living with HIV in the United States of America today, almost half are black; note African-Americans make up only 13 percent of the population. One in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Almost 75% of American children living in single-parent families will experience poverty before they turn 11 years old. Only 20 percent of children in two-parent families will do the same.
