( You got any hcs regarding how Godseeker was like before what happened to the Land of Storms? how does she currently feel regarding the old gods? )
;; oh you know I do baby, thank you for giving me a chance to spill ~ ❤️️
;; SO ! prior to the Old Gods’ passing, the Godseeker - our favorite binch, was MUCH kinder than she is in the current canon time period. surrounded by a loving tribe, caring gods, & a mostly peaceful home, there was no use to looking down on the smaller creatures, getting defensive, bitterness, nor was there any point in looking for other gods to worship either - all acquired over the period post-the Land of Storms’ downfall. I don’t imagine it was WHOLLY nonexistent within the tribe, but it wasn’t as openly expressed as it is for her afterward. Godseeker & her tribe were much more focused on worshipping the God(s) of Thunder & Rain & the harmony promised to them through it.
;; in this period, Godseeker was a very welcoming & caring figure in the tribe, attempting to maintain peace when issues arose & often times taking the lead & acting as the head of the group. ( & while the group has no ‘ leader ‘ aside from the Gods they worship, the Godseeker is quietly considered the figurehead of the tribe for her headstrong & confident attitude, this would also lead her to be elected as the perfect vessel for the rest of the tribe to become one with later on ) she maintained the similar calm & knowing demeanor she retains in canon, but much more affectionate & just.. SOFT. simply put: a mother to an entire tribe, one that’ll scold you for doing bad but forgive you in 5 seconds.
;; the presumed ‘ betrayal ‘ & death of the Gods & the trip to seek new ones afterward would take a heavy toll on her idea of life, as well as her behavior, personality & everything else.
;; --- && this also includes her idea on those Gods in the process.
needless to say, Godseeker herself resents them personally. after the grief of having lost them to a horrendous storm had passed, she had decided that - because they had died & easily enough, they were not Gods, & that the entire tribe was tricked into dedicating themselves to them. they were PRETENDERS, which had urged the trip out of the Land of Storms, ( alongside the area becoming entirely uninhabitable ). this was not all of the tribe’s collective idea - mind you, but a lot were convinced by such an idea ( & with how highly the Godseeker was held in thought prior, it was easy to go along with it ), & they got out of there as soon as possible, leaving their Old Gods to rot.
;; she feels utterly betrayed by them, sickened by the thought of having regarded them as anything more important than simple bugs - & has further lead to her being very selective of whom she chooses to interact & connect with. at the same time, though -- it’s hard not to think about them & remember her life with them. they were never cruel & they had lived wonderful lives before it all, & she DOES deeply miss that, even if she’d never admit it.
;; " Gods of Thunder, Gods of Rain! Why forsake thy servants? Will Our minds be left suffering, to ache alone? What God remains to deliver Us from this woeful silence? " -- Lament of the Godseekers.
