Okay, so it’s my birthday today
...aaand all of my family and most of my friends forgot about it, even my parents (not that I hoped for them to remember, still - this wasn’t very nice). Firstly, thanks to Asia, A. and Igu for messaging me, you were the only of my friends to do it. Thank you, my wonderful partner elqreco, for a morning kiss and brightening this day. Thank you, my dear followers! About 15 people texted me (most of you never talked to me before), wished me nice day and you all made me smile so much. And, I hit 200 followers goal today! Thank you all again. If you’d like to make my birthday better, you might check out my wishlist and maybe get me some calligraphy supplies, I’d be grateful forever :)

RUDE HOW COULD YOU JUST COUNT BY FIVES
Alright, here we go.
5. Least favorite book of all time?
I actually got asked this before and floundered around for an answer before remembering, after I posted the answer, that I should’ve said Pamela.
Fucking Pamela.
10. What popular book do you just hate?
I answered this one before, too… I’m going to go with Harry Potter because it’s most shocking and likely to cause outrage.
I don’t hate it I’m just really tired of it okay I see it every single day on my dash no matter how hard I try to blacklist it and I JUST REALLY DON’T CARE ABOUT HP ANYMORE P L E A S E
15. Favorite genre?
Let’s see… Does ‘Victorian’ count as a genre? I don’t really like historical fiction but I do like history, so I tend to gravitate towards novels from the ~19th-20th century because I like the ‘aesthetic’ of the time period, if that makes sense. It just feels more authentic than trying to recreate it afterwards. (Plus, Victorian fashion? Delicious. Don’t get me started.)
20. How many books do you get/buy in a year?
Don’t… make… me… count… It’s probably in the hundreds… (And I don’t even read them all.)
25. Pick the 23 book on your bookshelf, open it to the 86 page and find the 13th line. Type it out for us.
“...thou art mortal.’ Most of us can’t rush around, talk to”
Cool.
30. How many books have you read so far this month?
Zero…
35. Do you read Poetry?
Not generally, which is kind of sad since I write it.
40. Favorite book turned movie?
Do you mean books I like best that have been turned into movies or movies I like best that came from books? Or book-movie adaptations that I like the most?
Eh, whatever. When in doubt, I’ll go with Crime and Punishment. Movie counterpart: the Russian 1970 one.
45. Paperback or Hardback?
PAPERBACK. I rarely ever get hardcover, and only if it’s small and pleasantly sized, or would look nice on my shelf. I don’t like the way most hardcover books are proportioned.
50. Book/s that made you cry?
This is kind of really random, but… The Latehomecomer by Kao Kalia Yang. I didn’t particularly enjoy the book, just because I don’t really like memoirs or books about fleeing the country / wartime adversity / etc., but there was one scene where the main character was saying goodbye to her grandmother that really tore me apart.
My grandmother lives in China and is over 90 by now. She and my grandfather were also responsible for much of my upbringing because both my parents work, so they were also my parents in a sense. It’s not at all unlikely that I won’t get to see either of them again or say goodbye before they pass on, and that is painful to dwell on for me.
55. Won any writing competitions?
A few, but I don’t remember their names at this point. Mainly it’s either my poetry or my essays that win the contests.
60. Do you consider yourself a fast reader?
I’m objectively a fast reader in the words-per-minute way, but I’m actually a very slow reader when it comes to committing to a book and finishing it when it gets boring. Sometimes I read about 100 pages, leave it for a year or two, and suddenly finish the whole thing in one go. So… I’m a sporadically fast reader.
Thanks for asking! :)
Bookish questions!

I aspire to be your level of Cool tbh. I’m trying really hard not to watch like the entire season right this moment because then I know there’ll be no more. :(

Freckles: Five facts about you -
I was born in Alaska, but moved to Florida when I was about 2 years old.
I just started taking driving lessons so I can get my license next year!
When I get to college, I’d like to major in history, and minor in political science.

Tea Stains: Name three of your followers you would like to have tea with? - Hmmm.. honestly, this was a pretty tough question, but probably 150x , lionheartluna , and zepyhrus. (All three of them have really awesome blogs which I totally recommend to anyone who’s not already following them!)
Roses: Ever been in love? - Well, I guess it really depends on what you define as “love,” but I don’t think so, not really. Not yet.
ETHEREAL ASKS
